To be honest 25 quid a day to drive into London wont matter a jot. If you can afford to drive and park in London during the day then you are rich enough to pay it anyway without caring. If they are really serious then they should call it an environmental tax and run it 24hrs a day as congestion is still caused and pollution still put out after 7pm! Why should you be penalised for driving your nice new car into london during the day and then someone can drive their scrap wagon in which hasnt been serviced in years and belches out crap after 7pm for no charge whatsoever?

Totally unnecessary in a place where average speed is 7.2 mph.

I think there is an element of penalising rich people who have worked hard for what they have. To buy their big gas guzzlers they paid lots in tax and pay lots more every time they fill up. For those who do not live in London maybe you should try commuting at rush hour by bus/tube and see how you like being packed like sardines in a tin. If only more money was spent on public transport to bring it to other european cities standards then more people would use them.

Because cars don't sit around anywhere near as much, off-peak.
That is what peak charging is all about.
To get people to travel off-peak or by other means of transport.

But then if people travel off peak, that off peak may then become the new peak.

Only if everyone that did work during the day, suddenly starts working at night. All at once. All starting at the same time.

And now Porsche GB are asking for a judicial review into the charge increases!!

If your not happy, stop moaning and build some less polluting cars. Central London is hardly the ideal environment for a 911 turbo. And what exactly is the point of a Cayenne Turbo?

There's plenty of point to great cars, with lots of lovely bhp, just don't expect to take the biggest, thirstiest cars into the middle of the world's busiest cities!
Cycle, or use transport, or a commuting car.
Palmy said he was doing around 8-10 miles per day only, in his S600 at the end.
How crazy is that, on a car losing £300 per week in depreciation and costing another £100 a week in running costs?

Nice one.
Hopefully this judicial review will establish the bweeding obvious, that these cars produce massive 400g CO2 whilst aygos produce 120g, in the city that is more likely to be 140g and 700g.
They should make their cars better, DUH!
