Ive just bought, according to me and the registration document, a Honda Civic 1.6i-16 1991 (4th Generation).

I changed the car on my insurance policy and they told me its a VTEC. Ive just been on confused.com and put my registration in and it comes up as VTEC.

But the sticker on the back says 1.6i, and the engine doesnt say VTEC. The engine is lively and sounds pretty good, but ive never heard a VTEC before so dont know.

The Parkers website lists the VTEC as 1595cc, but my registration document say 1598cc and confused.com says 1590cc!

Any ideas on what i have?

1.6 16i is 128hp 1600cc twin cam...superb cars, i had one and it was fantastic....vtec civic in this guise is 150/160hp 1600cc and is badged vti.....

Can't you differentiate the engines from the max rpm?

I dont know what the max rpms should be, but i think mine redlines at 7000rpm.
