Hi all,
Does anybody have any experience/opinions of this seat? The one with the cushion instead of a five point harness? The wife and I will need a group I-II seat soon and saw this in the BMW show room with Isofix, we imagine BMW wouldn't risk their reputation by making a shoddy child seat but wonder if it's a good idea why BMW are the only ones using the idea?

Hi. Yes, we are using these child seat (x2) in the Mini which we bought last Sept. I must admit they ARE a bit weird to use. Our son (19 months) hates having the "impact tray" on his lap. It sort of forces his little arms upwards and outwards...imagine if you were sitting on a deep sofa and had one of the larger sofa cushions on your lap! Our daughter is three, so we don't use the tray on her, but just the seatbelt.

I would stick with something with a 5 point harness... looking at it online it looks like the BMW/Mini seat uses the cars seat belts to hold the child in? and thats why it needs ISOFIX to attach the seat to the car.

I would rather have a proper 5 point belt on my kids. Especially younger ones, there is a reason most experts recommend the 5 point belt.
