Bit optimistic, is it not? I doubt that, with the poor aerodynamics, a 16 year old Westfield will even get to 120.
Agreed. It sounded strange to me and i wondered, but when Noxide put the 132.5 bhp and 393kgs (without fuel, all manufacturers use that method) into his acceleration calculator, the figures that came up for 0-100 were very similar to the McLaren.
First of all, how can you claim to be a petrolhead when you are so wrong about kerb weight? Kerb weight is the weight of the car when all oil and coolant and a FULL tank of petrol is in the car. Most manufacturers also add 68kg for the (light) driver plus a 7kg luggage allowance. Secondly, your claim of a 393kg weight of the car is in the realms of fantasy since the 2-litre Pinto engine alone weighs in at 418kg! Thirdly, those acceleration calculators are wildly inaccurate, and only take weight and power into consideration, not things like gearing etc. Given that your mate "Noxy" is using an innacurate estimate for acceleration, plus using the wrong weight as a guideline, your misguided claim that this old Westfield is as quick as a Maclaren F1 is hilariously deluded.
An informative post like this deserves a less childish response IMO.

So how many names have you got now, PatriotUK? Oh dear, you NEVER learn, do you? This latest wittering from a 'new' member ( lmfao) is exactly the same as all your other nonsense and will fool nobody. You have been duly ignored, along with all your other names. You are just SO sad mate, you really are.

Truthmeister, if you aren't him, you need to learn about him. But the odds are 99.999 % that you are just another name he uses. If not then learn a bit about this guy before you fall for his rubbish.

I was suprised that you didn't address the issues and facts, merely insulted. Then you did the same to me. Says a lot.

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz, whatever it was you said, come up with something and somebody less obvious and transparent and people might even take you half seriously. Until then, dream on. WYSP WYS. Come to one of the meetings and let's see who you are.

Truthmeister, on the very, very small chance that you are NOT PatriotUK, i will answer you. This once only. Right, for one thing, the quoted weight of the Pinto engine is wrong. It does not weigh 418kgs in the form the Westfield owner has it in. Right. I did not weigh the car or tune the engine myself, the current owner did, strangely enough. I am reading from a spec. sheet and until i see the car in the flesh and try it out, am prepared to believe him. I have, though, spent an hour or so looking up details of these cars and i have to admit that the weight does seem too low, but we shall see. I also have concerns as to wheteher it would pass even a daytime MOT, but again, i give people the benefit of the doubt, something the patently jealous PatriotUK never has done in any of his many, many guises. He can criticise people like Noxide and Palmira and me all he likes, but we are car enthusiasts who do what it says on the tin. We don't need to dream. This other loser is just an invisible dreamer who deperately needs to spend less time reading magazines and more time working towards his first-ever decent car.

GRIP, you are wrong on the performance calculator I use being inaccurate. It is extremeley accurate with 0-60, 0-100 and especially quater mile times, as tested many times against real figures achieved by real people at real events that I have really attended.
Even the figure's it gave for Bamfords previous 535d were near enough spot on the mark for what DMS themselves tested and found.
I would not use any thing which is inaccurate, as that defeats the point.

I just checked it is 190kgs, around 416 POUNDS.

that will be pounds then you clown.......thought as much as i have previously lifted one of these lumps above my head.......and i might be strong but no way could i press 400 plus kilos...get your facts right bro....
|
| |
|

|
biggbn, i really can't believe such an amateurish error. 418 pounds, right so the car may well be 393kgs then as it is little more than a place to sit and an engine. I am glad i did not call and question the seller's honesty.

Mail me whatever was so bad. I challenge you. There WAS nothing bad and you know it. Remove the mail button if using it is somehow some sort of crime. As Noxide says, you are being silly.

Get rid of the mail feature then. send me something abusive or bad and you can have £1000 for each one. you are wrong.
