m8 you need a newer vehicle than the Primera, especially for taxi work.
Best bet get to your local Skoda dealer and buy a Octavia in diesel, brilliant motor.
Could replace all those Merc Taxis in Europe one day.
Buy it in Silver Looks good.

Well I finally tracked down a light cluster - so problem solved and will soon have the taxi back on the road and me making some money. Regulations don't allow me to have faulty lights. Typical of the council - wish they would get their priorities right!
I did look at the Skoda Octavia TDI a few months ago - a few of my colleagues use them, but I'm not so sure. I'm looking possibly buying another Merc to use (funily enough) - I've got the '98 C180 just now, which is also registered as a taxi, but only used for specialist work I get - corporate contracts, etc. Thing is though, my C180 hasn't had the best of reliabilty, and the dealer network? don't get me started on that - I've started using an independant garage for servicing, etc.
I think its more than likely I'll replace the C180 with an IS220D when they get a bit cheaper - although I always wanted the original IS200 but prices never got low enough to justify using it as a taxi.

It's a 1998 C180 - 3 owners including me.
Yup, sick, urine, you name it I've had it - we can charge for things like that thouugh, but to be honest you end up either getting a mouthful of abuse, or worse....

m8 know what you mean.
bet even your corporate work or those guys with the big stretched limos get the same sort of "action"
whats your views on those limos. I think there are gross and the drivers should have to take an extra test cause of the size of the car

Tacky!
But a great business - unless you're in an area where they are saturated.
Same with Fire engine limos - whatever next?
