hmmm following on from the bucket thread i have always fancied having a wee lotus 7 type car. Nothing too fancy, a pinto job or preferably a 2.0l FI sierra type job would do me (cant stand fiddling with carbs). deffo not interested in mega power (over 130hp) as wimping out on safety grounds / crash after about a week.
I have noticed though that they are pretty pricey unless u go dog rough.
They are based on the model that the Caterham 7 is based on Jimmy...
The Lotus 7 started it all, then Lotus sold the rights to the 7 name etc to Caterham in 73.
The models that Benster and I are referring to are likely to be kit cars, or other cheaper made cars... Caterhams appear to hold onto their value pretty well from what I can see over here!
Even a 100 bhp engine will give you plenty of fun in a car weighing 600 kgs! My Westy had 326 bhp, but in some ways it was too much. I think that in a way, less power can be more of a challenge.
326bhp in something that weighs 600 odd kgs must be loose. Although you did have a 25*bhp bike, so you're obviously no stranger to the ridiculously fast!
