Any suggestions as to the best way to clean the inside windscreen and get streaks when the sun shines on it? Did mine with a window wipe cloth, then wiped it dry and it looked great.... till the sun got on it at a certain angle and it looked all speary, re wiped it and again it looked great till the sun shone again!! Is there a secret trick that anyone knows, if so please share
I use a good household glass cleaner coupled with lots of kitchen roll.
Spray on the glass cleaner, wipe around a bit with kitchen roll and wait a minute or two. Then, get a clean bit of kitchen roll and rub the cleaned area well until the smears are gone.
Does the trick wondefully. Just need to use a little elbow grease to ensure the last smears come out.
Never found the specialist car glass polishes much good myself.
totally agree with oil burner. glass cleaner and elbow grease. its without doubt the most annoying thing i do when valleting cars at work, but it has to be done.
Always used a yellow duster, and keep using it when needed, never had to use any cleaning liquids at all.
Just bought a new car for my daughter to learn in (as awell as a runabout for me), previous owner never bothered - the inside of the windscreen ahd that whitish covering on it which gets worse with a bit of condensation - how to people drive when its like that? Beats me!
^ He has a point, though I found in decorating that white spirit isn't that bad really. You can quite happily dip your hands in a bucket of it without any dire consequences. It takes a while to strip paint, and when used to strip paint it's not always that effective. So providing you whiped up any spills you'd probably be alright. But I'm inclined to say just use Vinegar anyway.

It does a good job of stipping all the oils from your hands, leaving the skin open to infections, not to mention if you have even the slightest cut.Data Sheet
I've also heard that some old newspaper and vinegar is one of the best solutions for cleaning windows.
Alternatively, a crisp new £5 noted seems to work better than a newspaper and vinegar for me when transferred from my palm to the palm of the hand carwash bloke. I simply have to get out of my car, wait a couple of minutes, get back in and find that the inside of the windows are sparkling clean.
That £5 note must be very grimy after being used to get all that muck off my windows...

Get some newspaper and vingear on there, its good enough for windowcleaners
^ I think I'd rather it smelled of white spirit really..
And white spirit does strip paint, that's its entire purpose. Personally I use it for cleaning paintbrushes (start by using a little washing up liquid under the cold tap, then add white spirit and wash a little more under the tap, paint eventually is cleaned off).
i know white spirit strips paint, i use it when decorating aswell. but ure only using a small amount when cleaning a car and it doesnt strip. trust me on this. i use it at work on new cars and it doesnt spoil the paint work.
in the bad old days of opening windscreens on vehicles....ha ha ha ....wasps-in-teeth driving...methylated Spirits got rid of condensation...even rain..( had to be applied BEFORE the rain started.... )
is there anything on the market that is really effective, for instant use, whilst driving, etc, that gets rid of the greasy, sticky aftermath of condensation on screens? especially when heading into low winter sun?
windolene doesn't work well....
remember those sunglasses that used to pick up the zoning marks on windscreens?
