The dealers were a big factor in me deserting Mercedes. Plus I got a hell of a lot more car with my Jag for the same money as the C-Class I was considering.
I passed a Mercedes Showroom about a week ago and saw the new R-Class,When i saw pictures of this car i thought it looked wierd and repulsive, but i have to say that seeing it in the flesh surprised me.Never before did i think that when you hate something you could find it in you to hate it even more. What a load of tat,a waste of money and a good way of showing which way Mercedes are heading, the scrapyard with the new S-Class and CL,Mercedes need to get their act together and get rid of the designer who styled these monstrosities before things get even worse.

I'm tempted to agree with Clarkson on the C6, it just isn't wierd enough for a French luxury car. Looks like a big C4 with a boot and a fancy rear windscreen.
Now the Renault Vel Satis, that's wierd looking in the way all big French cars should be.... i.e. very. In the flesh, in black, they look fantastic. I'd have the Renault. (2nd hand, no buy-back schemes here, they're cheap as chips).
