Just been speaking to my brother-in-law, he's a salesman at a Honda dealer and he said the new Civic is riddled with faults. One customer yestaday dumped his Civic on the forecourt and handed the dealer prinicpal the keys and told him he was rejecting the car due to it numerous faults. I feel sorry for dealers, having to sell such pieces of junk, and for the customers who spent hard-earned money on substandard products.

Mwahahahahaha Good work Honda. I have friends who work at a Lexus Showroom, They said that the most of the cars in its range are all badly made and unrealible.
What happend to 'Moroon' Palmira?

Craig youre right. UK is unable to build cars. Hence the UK car industry is no longer.
All those joint venture Honda/Rovers were a joke.
Old, nasty Civics with Allegro Vanden-Plas style grilles and paisley seat trim. Driven by Darby & Joan.
But why did you stop using 'Moroon'?

i wouldnt say that. id just say that britain doesnt do mainstream cars well. but when it comes to something special we do very well. ie sports cars (lotus, noble, caterham etc... only germany and italy are as good) and super luxury (RR and bentley... for this segment britain is in a league of its own)
Very true, sox. Mainstream cars are no good here... But then alot of mainstream cars are no good even from other countries. These days alot of them are rubbish, and totally insipid.
I just hope Bentley dont start producing those vile abominations we have been seeing previews of on the C4 homepage. What a mess.
Bentleys are the ultimate in taste & a wonderful experience, i do not want to see their name being used for a plasticky bling-mobile... That will be a very sad day indeed.
Maroon, i swear that wasnt me, i never do that sort of thing. I think youll find the culprit has been banned, thankfully.
I know it was you and you know it was you. It definately wasn't Boundary. Anyway i don't want to go over that again, those kind of things make my skin boil.

Panther, i have to say i agree. Was looking at Arnages recently because i have a contract coming up with an existing client requiring a Bentley. I have suggested a Rolls Royce Silver Seraph instead. Same coachwork but 5.4 BMW V12 and RR trim. Somehow exquisite. The Arnage is my favorite modern Bentley, but id still rather have the Silver Seraph.

Now listen here, Maroon. This is not on at all. It WAS NOT ME. That kind of thing makes my skin boil too, its childish and nonsense. I have NEVER done that, and you can check with the C4 team if you like. Some toe-rag did it to me a few months ago & i didnt like it one bit, so why would i do that to you, especially when youve done nothing to me to offend me.
Now let that be the end of it. Im actually quite offended that youd think that low of me.

The Brits are perfectly capable - as capable as anyone else - of building mainstream cars. Vast quatitities of hugely reliable Micras are churned out in Sunderland, Toyotas from Derby and Hondas from Swindon. Perhaps this Honda has faults but are they due to the build or design faults? I suspect the latter because of Honda Swindon's usual good quality build.
I agree. No matter how good you are at actually putting the cars together, if you've got a bag of nails to start with, that's what you'll end up with on the road.
If Honda have compromised quality for cost and taken their eye off the ball on specification / process & supplier audits etc then the new civic will remain at fault. Check out all the car's reader reviews available and see if the faults are common. There's usually a common link if corners have been cut here...
While British engineering may not be what it used to be, that's the fault of cheap foreign competition, not the workforce slacking off, we're one of the most conciencious lot around.
civics only problem was that it was rushed into production..which is inexcuseable in itself...however to say its badly made out of cheap materials is utter bo**ocks palmy...vw execs apparently shat themselves when they saw the interior quality, they refuse to believe honda can do it for the money...give it time it will be a great car...and every test iv read has lavishly praised the cars interior and exterior build quality/design...admittedly its actual looks are...er...challenging...i like it..many dont...your posts of badly built sh*t quality are becoming pretty pointless and repetitive bro.....you can do, and have done, better....
The great British public are perfectly willing to accept unreliable rubbish. It just depends how the dealers deal with this. Throw in a good courtesy vehicle and make the experience pleasant, the vehicle in question could be made of old coke cans!
This might be a little cynical but it is not too far off the truth.
i will politely agree to disagree mbd.....civic reputation may well be sullied cos it was rushed into production...yes they are having problems...yes this is inexcuseable in this day and age...especially from a company with such a cast iron reputation for reliability...but the cars quality, interior and exterior is class leading.....it just aint ready....this isnt just my opinion bro, as is ay, its the opinion of many esteemd programmes and publications...one mag called it the first big advance in small/medium cars for a decade...

People should go and buy a proper car with proper rear suspension, proper styling, proper quailty & proper engines (and not one which eats its turbo, or another that needs the sh1te kicked out of it to get any performance).
