Be careful out there at the moment, they are getting flooded and very dangerous. Driving at the speed limit and being very cautious on the M25 last night, I nearly aquaplained twice with a good snap of opposite lock needed both times.

Drive safely gentlemen.

Nox, that is exactly what happened to me on the M25 the other day when i went very sideways in the outside lane, and then very sideways again after i had corrected it.

Im sure there was some oil or something mixed in with the water, it was a bit terrifying.

This was on the section between the Cobham junction and the M3, heading toward the M3.

Where did it catch you?

Between the M3 Junction and Croydon turn off.

Having a light, short wheel base car makes it even worse. I'm not sure I want to drive in such conditions again - someone went off just ahead of me.

Boundary the M1 is always a bit of a pain. Its boring too because it is just one long road.

Other day i got up, and drove from London to Bradford, then back to London. One road the whole way - and whats worse, it leads up north!

True, khanie.

Not sure i could cope.

Theyd all come up from the coal mines, throw their flat caps at me, and set their whippets on me & send their pigeons to peck me!

You've forgotten that we put ferrets down our trousers too. I've got one down mine at this very minute.

What's a 'coal mine' by the way?

Give the North a rest, they provided the industry that made Britain a superpower for a while at least. If it weren't for the mines and the hard working people of Yorkshire and Lancashire Britain would have remained a windswept island inhabited by a load of miserable impoverished Celts.

Actually...

Come on old chap, im only joking. i have lived in the north and although i would never go back there the lancashire & yorkshire people are very nice. My favorite northern town is Sheffield, which i think has alot going for it.

I dont fancy doffing my cap to the pit owner every morning though!

You'll find plenty of diesels in London. You can here Audi Diesels from a mile away.

I drive a diesel in London... Razz

Anyway I really don't get this "you'll hear them from a mile away" rubbish. I've heard pleanty of cars that I initially thought were diesels and later found to be just poorly maintained petrol fiestas, kas, saxos and the likes.

Equally I've watched pleanty of silent or very quiet cars go by that infact turn out to be diesels.

Load of rubbish.

How loud are the silly 1.1 and 1.6 chavmobiles, with an exhaust 9" across and stupidly loud, distorted music, coming out of opened windows?

Diesels don't stand a chance!

Boundary, we are in agreement again.

This is quite extraordinary, I think I need a lay down.

Noxide & Palmira, I travelled on that section of the M25 on Tuesday and had no problems.

Also, the powers that be had the Variable Speed Limit switched on for some odd reason between the A3 and Chertsey junctions. On this occasion it caused more congestion than it appears to solve.

I am wondering if it is a new road surface they are using or they are not building the drainage properly. Recently I have found the M60 and M62 are flooding? The M62 at the Warrington junctions is particularly scary in the rain - road is greasy and flooded. I saw a crash into the central reservation for no obvious reason except rain.
