Hi there! I am wondering if there is any other well-known fast way to sell a car other than AutoTrader and Loot? I am immigrating in a few weeks and am trying to sell my beloved Toyota Yaris.
I'm going to try some dealerships, but I know they'll offer low amounts. It's a beautful 2002 Yaris, silver, auto, air con, one lady owner, only 38k on the clock, full Toyota Service History, electric front windows, electric mirrors, blah blah blah
Local Paper/Autotrader I would think - be realistic with the price - if you want a quick sale then its no good asking top book price.
If you go to What Car they do a car valueying service, as do Autotrader and others - put you details in and go for the average.
If you want a really quick sale then see what the dealers offer, then check Autotrader and pitch half way between...
Bear in mind that although it may be in great nick, it an 8 year old car, and an auto, so that will limit buyers, though on the plus there's the condition and the fact its a small car, which is more saleable these days...
One website has valued it at £3,000 and another has valued it at £3,615. I put it on gumtree last night, and today I got a text from a random girl saying she could offer me £3,500 in cash. It could have been from gumtree or by word of mouth- I have been asking everyone to tell their friends.
Another website valued it as £4,600 if it's in good condition (which it is). I was hoping for £4,300, but I'd go as low as £4k. Does that seem reasonable? Looking on Autotrader, the same model with less mileage but 2001 reg are going for like £5k.
Just went on What car and this is what they had to say
Dealer £4,285 Private £3,845 Part exchange £3,335 Trade £3,135 Cost new £11,070
What does the dealer part mean? Am I right in thinking it means if I were to buy it from a dealer? Maybe I am asking too much. Private is £3,845. So maybe I should put it on at £3,700. Wow. That will barely pay off my overdraft!
what car? and parkers always undervalue cars by a huge margin, the free AA "value my car" service is more accurate. the only way to know is to check the market on autotrader and if you need to sell put up a price similar to the existing ones. but if there a re none for sale in your area at your age/spec(within 50-100 miles) charge higher than average.
the dealer part your asking about is how much what car? thinks dealers are selling this car for.
....... There's got to be a hundred reasons why i should listen to diesel owners, but right now, i can't think of any.
Thanks for your help beach This was what the AA had to say
Nearest mileage available 38,000 Price when new £11,050 Retail value Garage/retailer's selling price £5,095 Trade-in values Clean Condition £3,650 Average Condition £3,200 Below Average Condition £2,775
My concern at advertising it at £3999 is that I will get offers at £3700. I really don't want less that £3,900- and that really is the minimum.
