Who do you think is the best car programme driver of them all?

There are plenty, if you include the presenters, but I believe there are only 3 worthy of a mention.

I have voted for Tiff Needell.

They are all masters, but is there ANYTHING that Needell can't do with a car???? Thumbs Up

Question:
Best car programme driver?

Choices:
Tiff Needell
Jason Plato
The Stig
A N Other

All Masters? At what, pray? As far as I am aware they were all, to put it mildly, not all that sucessful - Plato would probably be about the best...

But I understand that Jackie Stewart does some broadcasting and I seem to remember that he taught James May how to drive fast on TG so he gets my vote even though he's not on the list - a true champion.......

VBH for the "looks" winner, btw! Wink

Oh, and to answer your question re Needell - "Get a drive in a decent F1 car" is your answer, cause he weren't good enough!! Wink

I voted Jason Plato. If anyone wins a series of the BTCC he has to be a great driver. It's also the reason i think 5th gear is a better motor programme than TG (opens can of worms Crying

Any body who seriously puts VBH forward should be disposed of with immediate effect.

She is a horrendous TV personality and an awful driver who has totally failed in every major championship she has competed in. Carefully placing a seatbelt between your breasts and squeeling like a pig to slaughter can only get you so far.

Tiff.

nothing wrong with VBH ..... not any worse than any of the other tv presenters that drive on the car based shows.

My vote goes to whoever it was who did the 80's Austin Montego ad. (Drives out of the dealership via the window and then weaves in and out of a few lorries on two wheels). Loved that ad.

I voted for Tiffany, he's the only one I've met and was a thoroughly nice bloke. I met him at a Nissan driving day (don't ask).

You're 100% correct.

5th Gear is what TG used to be, but in a longer format.

TG is now a light entertainment, motoring based show that just exists to pander to Clarkson's ego.

Saying that, it's fantastic viewing.

Plato only wins races because he barges everybody else out of the way and I find Tiff a bit too much of a show off. Okay he's good a drifting etc but ultimately not as fast as the best.

Is the Stig really more than I person?

I remember when the Stig changed a while back but is it more than one person at any one time?

For the few moments that we were treated to her skill – may I nominate Sabine Schmitz.

The Stig's identity has been partially revealed in a Friday newspaper. Eek

Looks like we'll get a new Stig, probably wearing lilac or something; or they may promote one of the other Stig's!!! Big Grin
