I'm trying to find somewhere in the Hertofdshire/Buckinghamshire area that hires out E-types for a short (3 or 4 day) break next July. Does anybody know of anywhere? The main sticking point I'm finding is the fact that I'll be 22, apparently not old enough to be entrusted with a half descent car! Thanks for any help

Several car hire outlets do classic hire, some of which have the E Type.
I hired one from the Birmingham area, forget where now, exactly.
Google will find one for you, but maybe not in your area.
I think insurance will be the problem, due to your age.
All people under 30 are high risk, with car insurance.

Thank you all. I have tried all of those companies, but they all have age limits too high! One company has said I can hire the car, but will need to sort my own insurance, which isn't possible according to my insurance company, as the car already has insurance!

Dare i say it, but forget it altogether!

I finally bought the car of my dreams when it was 20+ years old, a fully restored V12 E Type Coupe. It was mint.
(I preferred it over the drophead, by the way, regardless of the greater value/esteem of the convertible.)

In some ways it was, yes, a dream come true, but in many other ways it was a crap car, totally outdated and with horrible steering and useless brakes, lights, ride, etc.
12 mpg wasn't too clever either!
