We have gained one of the first VW 'People Cars' and it's like new.
Dunno what year it is exactly yet.
Value?

From memory, only the very earliest (first couple of years only) beetles had the split window... I'll investigate!

"During the 1950s, the car was modified progressively: the obvious visual changes mostly concerned the windows.[14] In March 1953, the small oval two piece rear window was replaced by a slightly larger single piece oval rear window"

From Wikki - and I suspect its probably right in this case! So yours is an up to '53 model, B! Do a search "VW Beetle history" and the first site includes a section on how to ID your beetle!

Personally I couldn't stand the things, btw, a mate of mine hade an L reg 1301 same time as I had my Mini, give me the Mini any day!

After my little jaunt abroad its a lot better now, B, the previous one was good from the outset so I always wondered about people posting that modern diesels needed 10/15k before loosening up, but now I can see what they mean - its a lot smoother and responsive that it was....
