White can work if the design is svelte enough and, crucially, the alloys are suitably exotic. Saw a white Cayman with graphite mag-style wheels and red calipers - stunning. The 3-door BMW 1-series hatch can carry off white too. Honda S2000 in white with red leather....like driving the Japanese flag!
I used to think white made cars look sportier, but only if they were top end models, i.e. Focus ST, Golf GTi etc etc... but I couldn't have a white car really, it'd always look dirty
rather have bright yellow than white .. for me white belongs on things like fridges, freezers, washing machines -- errrm .. white goods on a car to me, it's just cheapens the appearance unless it's a stickered up competition car

Don't ever buy a black car!! now that shows up dirt constantly. I have owned a white car, and now own a black car, the black car looks dirtier a lot quicker than the white ever did.
I like some cars in white, but as most have already posted it depends on the car.

oh yeah deffo! i had a black 1 before i had a white car and it will be the last black car i ever own! it was a buger to keep clean!

Yeah I've seen LP640 pics in white, it does look ace. That and yellow.

....all these cars, when new, gleamed in white, and, when i see one nowdays, im instantly transported back to the days of floppy hair, baggy suits, crocket and tubs, wham and ah ha....so burn them..burn them all...get rid of evry single vestige of 'eightiesness' from the face of the planet....bloody awful decade...
All depends on the car really and im sure that they will probably date quite quickly. The Fiat 500 looks good in white, as does the Cayman, Exige etc. However, something like a Mondeo would just scream police car.
