Long story short - I have a puppy dog, I can't work from home as much now (92 miles from office) and the missus is pregnant.
I'm currently 9 months into a 4yr PCP with BMW but since having my Z4 stating an annual mileage of 10k per year I'll be surpassing that mileage now as I'd have to do a commute to work which would mean about 25k a year mileage if not more.
My option at the moment is to go to BMW to see if I can exchange for a similar priced saloon/touring but considering my new mileage ammendment i'm sure i'd get screwed on the payment or final settlement - has anybody else been in a similar situation?
BTW, i'm so happy at being able to father a child so I wouldn't mind driving around in a tin pot (albeit a diesel one) as long as it was reliable !
I guess looking at it now, its the mileage that'd screw me up if I go over it but the PCP finance is really no worse than having a loan for a car anyway in my opinion, ok you pay quite a bit more when you come to pay it off but I guess i'm not the only person to use this scheme - once I see a car, I don't worry about the finance side so I am a bit of a mug in that respect to be honest
Maybe an option is to buy a cheap used car (say for £2000 - £3000) and use that for the commute to work. Might be a much cheaper alternative than going back to BMW, not to mention you then keep the value of the Z4 up by not adding too many miles onto it and get to keep it as a nice weekend car.
Good point - you need to see how much you would lose if you either terminate early or overshoot the mileage by a large margin - that may be a cheaper way of doing it - buy a car with 12m tax and mot?

Yep, I think I might get a bank loan next time just for a change although I called BMW finance today and I should be able to sell the car privately and pay the final settlement with maybe a few hundred pounds to spare.
