Elvington will see some close dices!
Several Evos and Scoobys going plus some quick German wheels.
Skyline v M5, should be good!

Handling is more improtant than power at Elvington and it eats your tyres! Have fun!

I really want to get over to the continent, where i know some roads really well, with no traffic hardly, no scameras and some seriously long straights.

How would you rate your M5 compared to your 535d?

"How would you rate your M5 compared to your 535d?"

Also, which do you think is better for cruising and blasting around europe?

The M5 costs 50% more, so a bit of an unfair comparison.
In most road situations, the 535d isn't much slower, because the M5 goes best when you really go for it, it's relatively gutless below 5,000 rpm.
It depends what you want out of a car, really.

The 535d is the better continent crosser.
120 mph at 2,800 rpm in top.

How about ride and handling, presumably the M5 is a bit firmer and the 535d more comfortable? As you say I would imagine the 535d isn't that much slower in certain situations as it has more torque but in terms of blasting around B roads or indeed track days the M5 should be a better tool?

The track would see the M5 clear off!
No issue there.
Ride is the same, pretty much, because my 535d had the M Sport package and 'sportier' tyres, would you believe, as standard, than this M5!

Jeremy clarkson described the 535d as relentless rather than electric, and a bit of a pudding but which large saloon isn't.

535d?
It's the same weight as the new 'Skyline'!

It never did the official comparisons, but in ad lib contests, it was slower initially but was always reeling the competition in as speeds rose.
The car was blistering above 50 mph.
