They'll certainly tone it down for production. It looks great. The Cee'd is a very good car that deserves to judged beyond it's badge & actually on it's merits.

Without even reading the review, to me it looks like they have looked at everyone other manufacturer and copied bits from each one.
On this prototype they have put something different and crazy into every opportunity for design.
Its the simplistic touch and attention to detail that make good looking cars. A bit like the civic they have tried to cram crazy design into every crevice and surface to make it stand out. Its like they haven't come up with a concept or a theme they just try and make some as wacky and different as possible.

I think the only wacky thing about the Civic is the looks, and there geting a bit boring now.

Agreed. It just proves that familiarity breeds contempt. Even a radical car like the Civic has now become boring!!!!

That's a fabulous looking car but I detect a note of Tigra about the rear end and Lotus on the front lights. They've definitely borrowed a few design cues from elsewhere but it seems to come together rather well. The Cee'd it's based on seems a genuinely good car too, but they still have one (IMO enormous) problem ... asthmatic engines. A car like that has no business struggling to 60 in 11+ seconds. And the 170-ish hp generated by the Kiundai 2.7 V6 is uttely hopeless by modern standards....albeit supposedly nice to use. Why don't they just buy in engines from someone else whilst they design a few more up-to-date lumps of their own?

The Civic may be boring to some people ( poor souls) But it is still the best looking small european hatch on the road today that is partly why it took the Compact family award and the Type R to the Hot Hatch

Best looking? Alfa Romeo (147) might have something to say about that.
