Good to see a British based team and a Briton win at Silverstone after recent Ferrari dominance. I have to say one of the more enjoyable F1 races in recent times. I think it may be a good idea to have sprinklers in all the tracts to ensure we only have wet races.
Superb race, thought Hamilton drove fantastically but shame we were denied Barichello's challenge with his fuel rig problem .... shows the strategic strength of Ross Brawn....think Kimi would have been a lot closer to the front had Brawn still been there to call the pit-shots.
....do Five Live always cover the GPs? I noticed on Sunday there was a live radio commentary .... ITV picture with Five Live sound ..... could this be the answer to James "Ding Dong" Allen?
_________________________ "Forward", he cried, from the rear, and the front rank died. And the General sat, and the lines on the map moved from side to side.
Five Live usually cover about 10mins before start and the first 10-15 laps or so, and then cut to another sport, with rolling GP updates, before usually coming back to cover the last of the race. As it was the British GP, they probably chose to cover start to finish.
F1 on BBC next year. Fantastico. BBC should keep Brundle on, and P45 the rest.
The BBC won the bid thanks to the strength of their interactive content, something ITV never developed. F1 was made for digital interactive tv - pit views, live lap times, multiple car cameras - the possibilities are endless.
Saw it on German cable TV (in Belgium!) and only got the occasional shot of LH going round - most of the time we were concentrating on Heidfeld (including his spin!) - makes you realise how daft are those who criticise our "biased" coverage simply because it concentrates on the best British driver - the other countries do the same ffs!
I notice this thread is very quiet from certain posters... is that because he drove a faultless race and actually proved just how good he is??
I tend to feel that we have another "rain master" like old Micheal was....
In my eyes, having raced in an open car in the wet, not spinning or going off and winning by a clear minute counts as faultless in my eyes - every driver will have "close calls" but if thats all they are and they don't go off or round and round then its good enough for me - even Shumi and Stewart had their moments!
