Just saw a programme on telly where a couple retired to Spain and spent a lot of money doing up a property. Then the government told that they were going to lose approx 3/4 of their land under the Land Grab law for urban renewal. The sting in the tail is that they are asking the couple to pay £50,000 towards development of the land that they had confiscated.
As far as I can remember the couple were given 2 options: keep all the land but pay £85,000 or lose 3/4 and pay £50,000.
I had no idea this totally unfair and unjust law existed in Spain.
