Nice one Harvey - did you get this as a result of chasing them for an update or was it sent anyway? I'd have thought it would have been sent to all buyers but I certainly haven't received it yet. I'm also waiting for the works guarantee before I send the second payment so I'd be interested to know if you've had this yet? Cheers.

Hi Jim,
I agree. It's a shame not to keep exchanging information. As someone who is buying without having visited yet, I have found it really helpful to read the posts on this forum

We have bought a 2 bedroom apartment on this project and I have had tremendous problems sending my payments/instalments to the bank in Brazil.I have had to send the payments in Euros through the Luxembourg bank account. Can those who have gone through this process advise how they have sent their payments. Best Regards

... And I'm back! The $64k question remains: Why they can't do what ALL OTHER forum moderators do and EXPLAIN why they delete posts? There seems to be some disturbed individual deleting them because any normal person would take 2 seconds to explain their actions, which have managed to ruin a once-lively forum.

I hope you read this before "they" cancel my post...! I'm writing in this forum about ones a week, but everything is gone after hours...!
Jim
Thanks for reply Jim, My concern is mainly due to the fact that I thought I read somewhere that if your payments arent registered through the main banking system in Brazil, you wont get full funds back if and when you sell. Hans Leistedt the project manager over in Brazil advises me that other buyers from the UK have had no problems paying directly to Brazil. Also,I have a friend who visited the site yesterday, and advises that the project is still 12 months from being completed. He was also told that David Beckham is campaigning to have Natal as one of Brazils bases for the world cup in 2014. If that proves to be the case then the region is likely to soar. All in all I feel the purchase has immense potential for growth. Regards Peter

You could well be right Peter, though regretably that does not change the fact i need to sell my C type villa at Porto

Why Magnate? I also have a C villa. How much are you hoping to get for yours? I was told yesterday that the developer expects our villas to be built by end of this year and the whole development by September next year.

Hey Magnate and Harvey, Ref my previous posting, how have you been sending your instalments to Brazil? Through your banks or a company such as Moneycorp? I have had real problems through Lloyds TSB,they tell me it cant be done, hence sending my payments through Luxembourg. Regards Peter

It would be nice if we could get this thread going again so that one got to hear from all of you that has invested in Porto dos Corais! How is it going for everyone with payments and all?
I thought I'd start off by sharing some of my own thoughts and experiences. I invested in type B villa about a year ago and went out to the site for the second time in February. The Pontengi bridge was then opened for traffic. Quite an impressive construcion actually. Work on connecting the bridge to the highway was underway at the time. However, even though these weren't finished, travel time was quite heavily cut this time compared to the first time I was there. Out at the site the construction was well under way. I'd say that the structure to about 30-40 houses were finished and you could really start imagining how it all will turn out. All in all I am satified with my investment, even though completion is delayed. However, I am in no rush myself and I strongly believe in the area. This huge luxourous development is not more than 10 km away from Porto dos Corais. Combine this with a new airport and I am sure that we will never see houses offered at the price we got them for at PDC again. By the way, if anyone is still interested in buying at PDC I saw that there are a few agents out there that are offering a type C villa at €125 000. A good price to get in on an attractive development that is already on its way if you ask me.
Keep writing!
Cheers!
/John

The amber lights are flashing on this development. Brazil homes are aiming to issue a newsletter to all investors in this development in May explaining the delay. The word on the grapevine is that the current developer is pulling out and negotiations with a new developer have stalled. The bank guarantee that comes with this build will be rendered meaningless as it will not be transferred to the new developer. Keep in touch with your solicitor

I understand it is the Spanish promoters who are pulling out because they have lost exlusivity on sales. The developers are progressing the project.

The official line from Brazil Homes, after I emailed them enquiring about these rumours:
Dear Jim, I don,t know where this came from but I will explane you this ,,forums,, on internet. I want to start to say that Porto dos Corais will be deliver on a normal way. Yes, there is any delay but the total project will be completed on the estimate date of September 2009. Brazil Homes will invest in extra material and manpower to speed-up the delivery of this project. So, several units insite Porto dos Corais will deliver much faster than September 2009. And the most important of all is that Brazil Homes is still the DEVELOPER of Porto dos Corais and whe will always stay the developer of this project. Best Regards Willem van Malsen International Sales Manager

Hi Willem van Malsen and all others.
I'm very sorry to be combined with these rumours, as I haven't been on this forum for a long time, because they delete all my post.
I have received private mails with questions about these roumers, but didn't give any answers, as I have had much more eye on the International Newspapers stories about the hevy rain in the area: "Heavy rain leaves 36 people dead in north-eastern Brazil" (Copy from a Newspaper)
And with the stories about Dengue fever: "Natal declares State of Emergency because of dengue" "Rio Grande do North is the 4th State in number of cases; so far in the year (from January till mid April), more than 5,000 cases of dengue were reported; hospitals are crowded with people looking for treatment" (copy from a blog)
I'm following this very much, but don't think any longer it makes any risk to travel to the area and I have even this week finally booked my own summerholiday to Maracajau. Because I'm promissed my flad to be finish last day of may this year...!
I think we are many who needs more informations about all these things going on, on the other side of the world. But it's very difficult to receive informations for the moment, but I'm told from Brazil Homes in Denmark that Christian will make a new delivery plan for all in may - and hopefully he will speed up the building through more workers on the ground. They are not even started on the bloks yet...!
So please all post from me is always with my firstname in the end. Jim

Hello Jim and Everyone
We are new to this forum but have been following the updates since we paid our initial deposit and first payment in May 2007. We are buying a Type D Condo and are very interested to share information with everyone. We had a reply to an email sent to Manzanares when we saw the possibility the current developers were about to pull out. Manzanares advised a newsletter will be coming out to everyone in May to bring us up to date. We had been concerned as we go onto the developers' site now and again to see the latest photos and there hadn't been any new ones since February. Manzanares also sent us our CPF numbers and a copy of the Bank Guarantee.
Will look forward to your comments Jim when you come back from holiday. Very grateful for all the updates people have been giving. Nice to know we are not alone in this venture!

Hi Everyone and welcome to Goz & Ros The developer has just today many new photos on their site and for the first time it's possible to se the ground of the D houses...! (I have, as some of you know from my site, bought D38 first floor) I'm just a little sorry about some missing dates on the photos - that could have been nice to have, but as long as they use all the manpower to build - I can live without. I will put a new link to them on my maracajau site tomorrow. Hope to have many updates on my site this summer, so pleas look at it - ones in a while.
