Anybody bought here yet?

I was interested in this and Portos Dos Corais, however i think i favourable over here.

it is in the middle of Natal city and Maracajau - so a trip is short to the coral reef and city, where as be 3o mins ride to Natal city from Maracajau.

I like the idea of being surrounded by 5 golf courses too, and having complete on-site rental management.

Payment is alot nice - 30% now with 70 on completion 2009.

Also PDC withdrew furniture package!

What are your thoughts guys?

You have been told before: do not invest if you do not know what you are doing!

What do you mean by "in the middle of Natal city "? Did you consult a Brazil map?

I advise you: you are too young and too poor to dare investing in abroad property.

Lol i know i know,

I dont mean Middle of Natal City

I mean mid distance from Natal to Maracajau. (middle of both roughly - Google earth always!)

The problem with this is that, I love Brazil, went to Rio, was the best. So I am contemplating not - just for investment but literally keeping maybe forever now as a home. I am coming into some money in a couple of years, and well - 70 percent is not due until 2009.

Its the way forward!

I do appreciate all your advice, thanks.

I am new to this game, and what i really would like is advice on steps - eg/ sign contract, source solisitor? / visit / make will / open bank account etc etc...

What you need to realize is that Natal is a third world city. The furthest from it the better.

But I agree, if you have spare money then an investment in NE Brazil is OK.

I agree and know it is third world, but it is also not the slums of rio or sao paulo. I have been to alot of third world but it does not stop the tourists piling in...

carribean, india , Morocco is also classed third world, and if anything has a higher risk factor due to terroist activity.

Brazil for one thing will hold much more development now as it is prob 90 percent certain they will host the world cup by 2014 and the government will need to get that country into shape!

I definitely feel it be a better start than putting 80 grande into an apartment in Morocco

Little wonder that FTB's are faced with permanent indecision when such an ill informed response purports to be objective advice from an experienced investor.
I do not profess that Natal is at the cutting edge of technological advance ,but to suggest it is a third world city diminishes the credibility of the poster to less than zero.
Last time i checked,Natal benefited from cable t.v. high speed internet, shopping malls, designer goods, cell phones, shops with Plasma tvs, dvds ,international banks,ATMs,upscale restaurants,a Carrefour,Wal Mart owned Hypermarkets and a 7 screen Multiplex air conditioned cinema showing first run movies!
Now where did i put that tin can and string,i need to book a flight to Rio!!

You must be one of those fat and ignorant visitors who do not know anything about Brazil.
What you say is just rubbish, Natal is a city where there are few rich persons and a huge amount of very poor persons who do not have money to all the amenities you mentioned.

Tarcara would you of advised strongly against Brazil then?

I was strongly considering Morocco at one point, but it does not appeal to me in the same way as Brazil which is why i opted for Samba city!

Of course I do not advise against Brazil.
Brazil is a good investment. Just do not take it for what it is not.

Bluntyu / Skankey, guys please sort your own lives out before prying into mine and thinking you can actually make decsions for me when you have not a clue about my life, but seen as tho you think you do then I think i will just see if you are right.

We had to live with my dad for a year knowing he was dying in spain with a brain tumour, he did not, so everyday waking up and knowing he was happy was making us happy - he then DIED and we fell with it. The house in spain is too painful to actually go to these days so please please do not think you know anything about something you dont.

I do not have 30% for any deposit. My girlfriend does who is living with me and wants to invest. We do not have the monthly money to cover spain and our rent here, it is her mom and dads money for now that we will jsut pay back monthly onto there mortgage so be cheap for us.

My mom has a villa with 3 other family members, so there is a plot of 4 altogether split between 4. We spoke about Spain and realised i cannot afford the payments, its massive, besides it is not just her - it is her and my sister in it together, So it is not purely up to her descision anyway. To be honest i do not need to explain any more, i come on here for advice on something positive and the best you can do is try rip me apart as if you know me and my family.

Have a good life, hopefully you will never have to go through what we have.

too many discrepancys, too many talestoo many dreamsof property(Morroco,Dubai,Brazil)that you cant buy, bottom line is that you are a dreamerwith little money at present who wants to be a big boy but you havnt the ammo, you might have in the future and good luck to you in the future but i wrote what i wrote in relation to your posts not for your life history
My deepest sympathies if indeed you have lost your father.I think to sum it upyou need to read again what the very wise Vonreisha posted on 02/02/07 20:23 and ask yourself that question which group will you fall into ?

lol you guys do make me laugh, why is it bad that i live with my parents? I do not understand that, I do AND HOW SHOULD I HAVE GOOD LUCK FOR DOIND SO? sorry it may be down to habit that i say parents rather than PARENT - he died last year mate and i still relate this house as theres - not just moms (get it?). Of course I do not have the ammo, this is a forum to talk - does it state you must have money to question properties? It is called research my friend. I would love to be one of 'the big boys' - I am simply getting my head around this and as a begginer asking questions related to properties for simple feedback to see how investors think, debate and talk. Dreamer? Well yeah, but dreamers have to start somehwere... Do you think I should just start on this forum ONCE i have money? how about you mate - you one of the 'big boys' then? you on here to gloat about your properties or offer help and advice?

I do not ask for your advice on how to run my own family - I asked for advice on helping my mother out - so how exactly you wrote in relation to my posts is confusing me mate - ggo back and read it, i asked should she pull out not somebody give me some money so i can afford to go in with her.

I have actually reserved in Brazil - a dangerous move? could be - but it is affordable to me and my girlfriend, it is not a big risk to us, it is simple payment terms and it is ran on borrowed money.

Without a geared mindset then all will fall apart... that is the group i fall into, once i stop DREAMING then I may as well quit.

So where did you buy then Nickohorn?

Natal and Rio Grande do Norte are fantastic places and I'm sure you'll 1.make some money and 2.enjoy your time over there.

As a young first time buyer I think you've done well to put down a small investment overseas in a growing property market rather than mortgage 6x your salary to buy a 1 bed hovel in the UK housing market(like most young people), which now looks like it's going to falter. I've just sold our second UK property which we were renting to buy a place in Natal, see you on the beach!

I looked at PDC but came in a little late on that one, the Marucajau (Sp) region is, I understand, not a massive beach/ tourist area..more for water sports, diving and stuff like that. Where as the region around GNG is more unspoilt beaches. I was concerned about the size and resale opp for GNG, nearly 22,000 units when completed and very few with sea views. Think I'm going to go with a development right next to GNG called Jacuma resort - ocean views for this beachfront dev.

Cheers

Hey guys.

I bought a one bed in Gran Natal Golf. Its all moving along, i havent been on tis forum for a while now as im stuck on an official 'brazil investors forum' where its all kicking off lol.. mainly regarding flights never changing to there.

Anyway, yeah I bought just a one bed. Jacuma is literally next door to GNG, and specifically my elegance marginata development. It is a gorgeous development, literally front beach, and i think youve done well, but i preferred something bigger, something which would market better as it is the development with the courses, the ocean promenade, the club houses, the bars etc plus its got the superstars marketing it anyway. It depends what you want, Jacuma feels more cosy and exclusive, where i feel GNG will be the big heart resort of Natal.

How you getting on?

Sounds good, good luck with it! Where is this official "Brazil investors forum" I'd be interested to see what they are saying?

I'm currently looking at the possibility of building my own property in Natal. I've been in touch with an English guy who runs a company called Beach Property Investment in Natal. They recon I can build a one off 3 bed house, with pool, on or near to the beach or I may go for a lake, for about £100,000! They'll take care of everything for me. I'm going to have a look at some land in the new year.

seems a bit pricey at £100k, I might be wrong...though I've bought some land in Bahia with p/permisson and with fixed costs for building 3 bed Villa with pool...the lot will stand me at a tickle under £60k.

I'm going with Jacuma..very close call as I recognise all the all the +'vs of GNG..both decent high risk/high return investments.

Cheers

£100K was my budget and I'm convinced I'm going to get good value for my money. I'm sure you could build a house for 60K, but this way I get exactly what I want. Good luck with that, who are you doing it though, or are you going alone? Can you speak portuguese?

Compared to you're villa, Jacuma seems very expensive, why are you investing there out of interest?

I had given you a link to have a look at the company I'm thinking of using, but they took it off!
