I've heard some good things about Morocco and was wondering what everyone else thinks of the country. Do you think it would be a good place to invest in property?
Ive been researching and investing abroad for a few years now.
There are a few golden rules. Number one never deal with small standalone dvelopers in brand new markets. Deal with the big state sanctioned PLAN AZURE sites if you want to slepp at night and to realise a return in capital growth or rent.
When it comes to resale the Plan Azure sites will have a massive advantage and established sales infrastructure such as local Notary and English Agents.
Saidia is the site I went for.
Ok the cheap stand alone site investors may strike it lucky but there are just too many warning flags and hurdles.
If you don't want to pay a premium for an investment in Morocco then consider Fadesa's Kabila resport near Tangier. You are far less likely to encounter problems that others have found purchasing PBGR and Royal Asilah. Also worth watching for Emmar releases.
Non Plan Azur developments buy smaller developers carry too much risk for me.
