"denkmalshultz" I came accross this a few times and can say that it is nothing like the hassle you get with listed buildings in this country, I even found that in many cases you can actually get large grants to restore buildings that are classed as such. It seems that the German authorities are just greatful that someone is taking an interest in such buildings. These are alos buildings that it is near impossible to replicate with modern building methods so should their value in the long run.
