A lot of the couples on Place in the Sun are usually the ‘grey eminence’ boring people who want to live abroad in the sun but expect for everything to be like in UK with a warmer climate. They usually end up amongst boring had been ex-pats with builders cleavage and don’t bother to even learn the language of their new country.
The most interesting person is Amanda Lamb
3 years ago we decided to buy a holiday home, went to France for a week, bought the 2nd property we viewed, arranged a mortgage (because we bought over budget - surprise, surprise ...!) and been renting it via the internet for the past 3 years. Job done!
Now, because of health reasons and the awful and wet weather here, we are considering to relocate to France with our 3 dogs 1 cat and 2 horses.
But we have no illusions that grass is greener on the other side!
