Help I am in desperate need of up to date information on buying in northern cyprus. I am looking at a development called caesars resort near famagusta but there are so many other properties available near Kyrenia. I am not familiar with the North and am looking for something near to the beach, but I read somewhere that Kyrenia is built up round the mountains, is this right. I would be grateful if anyone can recommend any off plan developments they know of or any advice or tips as this is my first purchase abroad. Thanks

Go there and see for yourself, rather than relying on what a bunch of strangers (however well meaning) might say.
It could well be fasle economy to stint on a return airfare when so much money is involved.
We spend far less on, say, a car but would usually actually see some options .
A while ago I looked at investing in TRNC, either at Ceasar resort or Chelsey Village.
I heard a few horror stories about title deeds and land owned by someone else pre-1974, I believe several newish owners were legally removed from their properties.
Also, getting their seemed to be an issue. The only flights into TRNC are from Turkey, so any UK originated flight would take around 5-5.5 hrs to get to TRNC. I looked into the possibility of flying to Larnaca in the South and crossing the border but this didn't seem that feasible. Indeed rumour has it that tensions between the Greek Cypriots and the Turkish Cypriots is increasing again and it's not inconceivable that the border may be closed permanently once more soon.
Investing in overseas property is a risk at the best of times but with TRNC the risks seemed too great.
