Am I alone in thinking there are a couple of threads missing? If they are cut does the moderator inform the perps of the error of their ways and why it was cut? Anyone have any answers?
More "Stuff" gone walkabout. Are we entitled to an explanation when someone removes something? How does one get in touch with "The MODERATORS"? Anyone take the time out to explain it to someone who's struggling to understand it all?
Vonreisa: To be fair to C4, they are under a dual threat of legal action regarding running a public web forum, because they are liable for what is published. The fact that it isn't them is irrelevant - if you were slandered or your business criticised unjustly, then it's C4 who you will contact and, if necessary, take to court. Not only is there no mileage for C4 in explaining why they remove a forum - they may well have beenprohibited from discussing the reason for legal reasons. Finally, I think that people are a bit naieve about these forums sometimes - C4 is a business and they are running these forums at a cost in terms of equipment, networks and administration. Why should they have to explain anything to anyone?
I do not know which recent thread you mean (but I can guess and had not read it recently).
When I see threads disappear later, I can usually what I regard as a reasonable stab at what may have made it go - but I have to leave it at that really. It's just a message board at the end of the day.
Thanks for the replies. Spreads a little light on it for me. I guess I come under the niaive heading. Not been using forums for that long (I'm a little old school and computors have only recently formed part of my office - hate the damned things but finding them increasingly indispensible) Although I now sort of understand the MO censorship under any guise still grates. Get used to it or go is the only answer I guess. Once again, thanks for taking the time to explain to an old dinosaur.
