Yes I bought in Eden Gardens but am trying to pull out at the moment, because the developer has completely altered the way the building is to be run. It was originally serviced apartments, fully managed and furnished, parking etc but they are now selling individual apartments which wasn't what I wanted.
Having said that, my brother has bought in Ice Hockey Tower overlooking Victory Heights. I certainly think that Sports City is going to hit the world stage with a vengeance in the next few years and will be a great buy!
All the towers I've seen so far in Sports City are similar in design, but these (Golf, Ice Hockey, Cricket, Tennis)have an interesting twist to them! They also have smaller 1 beds than most towers which made them more affordable.
Just wait till all the facilities are up and running, especially with an Olympic bid in the offing!
Hi MAAT In answer to your question l have bought 2 x l bed apartments in Rufi Twin Towers in Sports City, it's on the edge facing Dubailand. Planned to be finished by Mach 2008. The developers tell me that they have a contract with the Dubai Government to get it finished by then or face penalties. If that's true, l too am optimistic that it will be a great place to have an investment. Time will tell.
I invested in a studio flat at chamions tower. Any idea where its situated or where I can get hold a map with the locations of various towers? Many thanks
Hi Matt Key2Dubai had apartments in Champions Tower and l think they have a map on their site showing the development and also, if l remember well, its location within the City. l didn't buy from them because buyers pay the Agents fees. The apartments l bought for myself were direct from the developers who are Rufi Real Estate & Construction based in offices in the Inter Continental Hotel Dubai.
Go to the UAE forum and on to the Dubailand forum. There's a plot map of Sports City and the whole forum is full of discussion about Dubai. Don't go there unless you want to spend hours and hours now and in the future. It's horribly addictive!
The best place for everything Dubai is www.skyscrapercity.com Go to the UAE forum then Dubailand and there's a map of Sports City and loads of great discussion about everything to do with Dubai
I think sport city is the best investment out there. Everyone is retiring early and sport is more popular then ever. That in turn is £££££ for us. hehe
Hi everyone. I have just moved to dubai and invested in Sports City. It is a project called The Diamond. Has anyone heard of it?? It is towards the West Gate and I have been told by the developer is very exclusive! Only 114 units in the whole development!! I thought that was nice seeing as so many other developments are mass produced! Plus they do all the work for me so i just sit back and let the money roll in!! Please let me know if i have made a good investment, I personally think it's great!!
Hi Dubai Dreamer, I see the passion for Dubai in your name. The excitement is felt by me by your high energy screen name. Anyway The Diamond is a good place but remember Sports City is going behind schedule, like all other Dubai developments but some developments are getting too late in especially Sprts City. Still everything depends what you paid for your place. Studios at Diamonds is around 400,000 Dirhams.
Hi Avesh. I do luve Dubai. I am originally from Uk though my family originate from India. I am here working in finance. I paid 800,000 for my 1 bed in the Diamond. I was told that this is quite pricey, but i have been assured the quality that will be delievered will be second to none. The developer is First Homes Worldwide. I was very impressed when i met them here and it was the exclusivity + quality that drew me to them. When is Sports City now scheduled for completion? Construction at the diamond begins Nov2006, completion March 2008
I don't live in Dubai. I used to live in neighbouring Oman, in Muscat. I too am from India and am living in India for the past 6 years now. I have bought into International City.
Mind you though, Dubailand is leasehold only.
I too love Dubai, its like a 20 year old youngster with fire in his belly and with his hormones gushing forth, looking for that life long adrenaline rush!
Hi- just brought in @the diamond' in sports city- great investment and getting 17% rental yield guaranteed!! Brought from www.dubaicitymoves.com Great service and their staff know what they are talking about for a change
If you are buying from developer directly in a new project, then better go through reliable real esate company .There is a possibilty that you get 1/2% discount (In fact agents are getting 1 to 2% from developer and some times they share commission with buyer).
If you buy directly from developer you dont get any discount.
Just try next time.
Good luck

Yes also bought at the Diamond, Didn't see anyone GUARANTEEING 17% rental yeild, I think 12-15% will be more likely and it is apportioned across the entire building. Will be going to see the development in mid sept First Homes WW are putting up buyers for a 2 night stay in the Burj al Arab, Yes I realise we have paid for it in the price but nice sweetner anyway!
Let you know what the grains of sand it is going to stand on looks like.
I bought at champions tower from memon real estate. Anyone know much about them? Already paid 30% but haven't got my contract just yet. Doesn't sound normal does it . . .
