Just wondering if anyone could shed any light on buying in Bulgaria. Me and a friend were there over the weekend and have found an off plot development in Godovitsa (just outside Borovets). We are very interested but would like to know if anyone has had any experience of this - good or bad. Also if anyone knows of any decent English solicitors?

Can I ask what your motivation is for buying in Bulgaria? Is this a :

- Holiday home for you and your friends family.
- Investment proposition through flipping.
- Investment proposition through rental return.

How have you sourced this property via your own DD or have you gone to one of those "inspection trip" companies.

Always worth talking your plans over with one of those friends who tell you what they really think not what you want to hear.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah the main motivation for buying is to make a good return on investment in a a number of years. Also secondly to have somewhere nice for us and friends and family to use when they need a break.

We sourced the property by going over for a long weekend and meeting with a Bulgarian who we knew from a few years back here. He drove us round and showed us the area and spoke with the builders, property etc in Bulgarian for us.

Looks and sounds like a wery nice thing but obviously any advice from experience would be great.
