This is the website where you can get beach properties in a safe well developed location cheaply. Hardly any crime. well developed tourist infrastructure and cheap to live and to enjoy yourself as well as a mediterranian climate most of the year.
When searching for apartments/houses go to 'costa atlantica' as the rest of the houses are in Buenos Aires though you get some top bargains there also. It is a great city a mixture of Barcelona and Rome.
If you want any advice drop me a post here and I will try and anwser!
I should menetion if you scroll down to the bottom left hand corner to the page, you will see an american flag and 'English Version' click on the flag and you will get the English version of the site!
I think you have come up with a very interesting idea in argentina. I checked out the website you mentioned and they have big luxury villas going for peanuts and nice apartment.
I think that this reminds me alot of south africa 4 or 5 years ago when you could pick luxury villas for next to nothing and now there there like £750,000 - £2million each!
I think there was a window of opportunity in South Africa when the white population sold up and moved out and proerties were going cheap and now as the white migration trends have settled down the prices are going back again.
Argentina has one huge factor over South Africa and thats the crime rate, Argentina is a very safe country with lots of police everywhere. Crime levels that are pretty high in most of Latin America doesn't exist in Argentina.
Buenos Aires and Durban are more of less on the same latitude so you are talking about a similar climate. Though the coastal resorts of Argentina like Mar Del Plata have been long established holiday resorts so a house or an apartment there is a bargain. As you have seen yourself Chris. Good property are going for 15-20000 UK pounds.
Whats happening now is that a small trickle of Spanish and Italian holidaymakers are going into the second home business but it isn't enough for the prices to go up sharply like they have done in southern Europe so for the next few years you will be able to pick up a huge bargain in Argentina.

Property prices have been going through the roof (comparatively) in Mexico - or at least the desirable retirement/holiday areas, some as muchb as 18% pa over the last three years. This is due to the "baby boomers" retiring or approaching retirement. As a conseuqnce the Americans are now turning their eyes towards Argentina.
