Well, we're a few episodes in to the ninth series of Wife Swap and we'd like to know what you all think of it. So far we've had Freddie Star and Sam Fox in the Celebrity Swap which kicked off the series, followed by an ex-pat episode and then a millionaire's wife who exchanged lives with a freegan Jesus Christian!
What do you think about the families involved? Do you think they've learnt anything from the experience of the swap? Do you think that this series is better or worse than previous ones? Let us know your thoughts here!
I can see that the series plays on the tension arising from the differences between two wives/groups. The masses like watching argumentsand violence. HOWEVER, the extremes are amplified and dramatised, and the common ground between people is often ignoredin the final editing. It would be good to show where people have adjusted their views in accordance with the person they were pitted against.
I think that families who go on this show are victimized by the show and the production company. As for learning from their experience, I would think that the families have learned that they made a big mistake by participating in this horrible show! I think the entire show has been a trainwreck, but somehow it has managed to get even worse. End the show now! Silent Bob has spoken...

Watched a full episode of Wife Swap for the first time tonight (with the glamour model & the Devon mother of 6, sorry can't remember all names). I found it engrossing and I thought that generally, both wives were hard working wives and mums, giving their best shot in their own way for their respective families but I have to say I could understand why the glamour model wife (Louise?) was upset at facing the Devon couple, the husband in particular, in the aftermath programme. She was totally spot on about him using the kids as weapons, hiding behind the hobby pseudo job of falconry, him being man of the house alpha dog type, not enough time for chores because the kids come firat, etc. etc. He undermined Louise with his subtle, snidey little remarks and he did not like it one bit that she was trying to make it better for his wife and their kids - but not for him as he has it so good keeping his wife pregnant with a load of kids, tied to the kitchen sink and not being unable to help out much because of his 'high powered job'. His patronising and setting Louise up to fall started almost immediately with the first job he gave her - beheading and pulling apart baby chicks for his falcons to eat. Surely if his job is with the falcons, then he should sort out their feeding ... controlling huh?! And turning up in the studio with his farm clothes and wellies? Quite arrogant as he doesn't seem to think he needs to dress appropriately. Louise's husband was very respectful of Devon wife. He came to check she was OK when she inadvertantly upset the daughter over banning the PC and was in tears over upsetting the child. He was reasonable but still backed his wife up and admitted where he could improve things in their relationship. Devon lady is a loving devoted very hard working mum but her husband didn't back her up when Louise said the place was a mess. It was an absolute disaster of a house but her husband lives there too as do 6 children, 4 or 5 of whom could help out as that's what kids in large families do. I was glad Devon wife started to see through him when she got home. Both of them had their hearts in the right place when setting rules, etc. and both learnt from the swap, & Louise's husband came out of his shell and was a nice guy too. I've commented enough and just wish both couples well and of course all of their delightful children too, and that they move on.
I think that wife swap is very degrading of people. People are judged everytime they go on the programme. This is normally because of the way people dress, live and more importantly about how people live they're lives. I think its wrong to tell people that the way they live is wrong. People are different in many ways, emotionally, physically and mentally. People have no right to judge each other where ever they come from, what ever their financial status or how they choice to run their lives.
