I think the problem with invasion is its very much driven by this one story of an invasion obvious i know).

I know everyone is sick of the Lost comparisons but here's one more anyway... the beauty of Lost is there are so many stories going on within the island, plus we get all the characters back stories making it a much more interesting programme to watch.

Stop comparing it - its a different show. If they had flashbacks to Toms past then you'd say it was a copy of Lost.

Most of the flashbacks in Lost are to waste screen time and mean sod all to the overall plot.

And as for dragging - the hatch took over 10 episodes to open. Thats dragging a plot!!

The comparisons do NEITHER show justice and it makes me wonder if people just come here to whinge that Invasion isnt Lost and isnt as good! I prefer Eastenders to Corrie and they nick each others plots all the time but I never sit down and compare them!

I agree with Abbot. We must stop comparing the two of them. Beside if everything is given away in a matter of episodes, there wouldn't be any point in watching it would there?!

Why insist on comparing the two all the time?! The two shows are completely different - as they are supposed to be I expect. When the producers of Invasion created the show, I don't think they were trying to make it the same as lost!

I am actually enjoying Invasion, and agree they are completely different. Invasion is a good show in its own right.

Well said The_Abbott. They are two different shows based on to different things. Fair enough if they were very similar but they are not. I watched the first few episodes of Lost but could not get into it i think this seris will no doubt keep many people gripped and interested.

I love both shows they are tottally different, i know im going to get shouted at, but the acting is better in invasion and at least they have americans playing americans unlike lost were every australian except Emilie and cindy was played by a south afician.

Another thing how can they be simlilar the creators of lost have said their show has nothing to do with aliens where as invasion is.
Next youll be saying shipwreaked is based on lost- but then again shipwreak was Aired befoere this series so lost is copying them

its pretty obvious that Lost fans would start watching invasion seeing as they used to watch lost on the same day at the same time.

so as a lost fan does it stand up and is it good enough to watch while we wait.

jeez give it some credit i think its good.. going to be better hopefully. ..true though compared to lost its nothing but it is good to the point i'd watch it on a sunday :S

i think to say x-files is rubbish is an unfair statement. that show created such a phenomena and layed the foundations for sci-fi shows to be credible and enjoyed. the x-files allowed the likes of Invasion, Lost and all the rest of sci-fi shows youve seen in the last 10years to be made.we owe alot to that show for bringing some damn good sci-fi/conspiracy/thrillers to our tv screens

the early x files was superb , but as with all popular series it was milked too far & became mundane & predictable

ABC wouldnt show two shows that are similar after each other as they do in the states invasion is on after lost

Is it just me or do Channel 4 keep cutting away to the adds just a tad too early ?

When they found the dead man in the baboon's shed ... (?) they'd only just 'touched' on why they were there and Channel 4 cut to the Ubiquitous commercial break.

i think last night on e4 it was on for like 4minutes at the beginning then it cut to a break.

i am not comparing it to lost in saying this,but i have a hard time with the problem that it all revolvs around these 4 characters. that whenever there is a situation in the police force, wit the rangers, in the hospital or in reporting it's one of those four people and they are all one big family?? come on. by chance none of them happened to be a postman or a waitress... they all have really important jobs which are significant to the plot which wouldn't matter if they weren't all related...

Its a smallish community which has had a major problem - maybe the show is seen through the eyes of the important people of the area. I know if something like that happened id like the police hospital communications and ranger sortuing things out

That's what happens with most TV shows though! It's what keeps people watching! If they have the HUGE drama in the second ep then there is no where to go after that!

The whole dragging on thing does work for this series, there are plenty of reasons that will be explained further on. They need to drag on otherwise ppl will get the plot too early and the hype and expectation dies. I seen up to ep12 and the total plot is way more clear but not 100%. But it is a show that leaves u thinking after every ep, well at least i do...
