also I think we're covering this in the "kira rejected" topic. if a person is sick or unhealthy then the alien creature lets them go without replicating them. (this is what happened to Healey). so the only question is; "what is wrong with Kira?".
but someone seems to have answered that as well. something about a heart condition.
