Hi Every one! Have not been here for a long while, dont know how to use the site either lol! So, does anyone know whats happened to Invasion, will it ever come back! I really miss it.

It will NEVER be back because the show was AXED!

My hubby told me yesterday that teh ratings were so bad in the states that they axed the second series.

i so wanted to know what the ending would be to presumabley there was a script written

I'm pretty sure most producers don't have an overall script/plan.

I reckon they burgle the best ideas from fan sites throughout the season, and turn them into script.

Just so you guys know, Invasion was originally comissioned by ABC in the states for what is known as a half season (about 11 episodes).

It must have been quite popular at some point because they extended it to give it a full run. Even placing it directly after brand new Lost season 3 episodes over there.

Your best chance of getting invasion back is if the Sci-Fi Channel buy the rights and commission more episodes to be made. This is exactly what they did with Poltergeist: The Legacy a few years ago.

But the question should be why do channel 4 keep buying cancelled shows which they know have no future?

Could it be because they are cheap?

Channel 4 bought the rights to Invasion before the ratings had declined. Invasion was pretty much a hit at the beginning, but it gradually lost viewers.

The pilot had 17 million viewers, which is amazing for 10pm slot
The finale attracted 9 million.

I dont see why it was cancelled though. 9 million wasn't really too bad, and im sure there was a chance of getting the other 8 million they lost along the way back.

The american series "Jericho" had 11 million for its pilot, and just 7 million for its finale, yet that was renewed.

Invasion deserved another season, and many more to come. ABC made a bad decision to cancel it.

Not coming back. That's a shame because I actually enjoyed it.

I really hate it when they cancel shows with no conclusion, they could at least commission a "wrap up" episode so to speak, so we can get an idea of what was gonna happen or how it might have ended.
They're not exactly encouraging channel loyalty, why should we invest time in watching a show that is never going to be concluded?
Invasion, Vanished, Surface, Threshold, Day Break, Odessey 5 i could go on but why bother, they didn't.

Sometimes they pull a show with episodes still to air. Unlike UK TV where the whole series is in the can before the first episode is aired. The U.S. rely on ratings (or in the case of CBS whether they can afford to carry it on) so the programs are only wrapped a few weeks before airing just in case they get pulled.

Didn't Twin Peaks Season 2 suffer a similar fate with AGent Cooper marooned in the black lodge?!

IMO Invasion was streets ahead of Lost with which it seemed to be battling at the time. At least it had a plot!!!

What a shame...

Invasion was very very very expensive to make so that along with the falling ratings is why it got canned

I watched the conclusion of Day Break!?

I heard it had been axed about 5 shows in so just gave up on it.
