That's interesting because I really dislike thew writing for Russell but on this ep Russell seemed very much worried about Larkin and their Unborn Child and he really was there for her so I disagree and that's saying plenty since the writing for Russell has made me not like him that much on the show !!

thought it was a bit boring. i heard it was supposed to be the best episode!!

so Tom had nothing sinister in the cupboard after all other than a rose. So were they trying to tell us that Rose was actually Tom's daughter and thats where she got the name from?!! The little girl they had to play the young Kira really looked like Rose now so maybe that was a clue!

I think Russell was still trying to protect Mariel over Larkin!

also they made a little mistake when Tom was shot. If he was shot from behind how comes you saw and heard the glass beer bottle he was holding in front of him smash first??

Plus what was Russell saying to MAriel in the hospital as they were walking down the corridor and following Tom? It was probably the most important conversation those two had and they let them whisper right through it!! anyone catch it!!

SO could Rose possibly be Tom's daughter then? Or is that just where Mariel got the name Rose from, from the rose Tom gave in the hospital whichshe collected from the Tom's store room!!?? Was it just a concidence that young Kira looked so much like young Rose??!! I doubt it!

So there was nothing sinister in Tom's room after all, although I do get the feeling it cleared it out before Mariel went in there. Probably where he had been storing the guns and uniforms to send down to the camp.

Also I think they kind of hinted at the point that Kira could have shot Tom last night. I know anyone would act hysterical about the news of their dad being shot but her reaction in the car wanting to speak to Jesse why not wanting to speak to Russell? Maybe her and Jesse were both plotting together! Also her just blankly staring when the paramedics took Tom from the house!

I'm going to have to re-watch the whole episode I think Lea because O/h kept butting in and I missed whole chunks of it. Couldn't decide half the time if I was watching the actual time or the back story or if it was all in his head.

I liked the effect with the bottle smashing when he was shot and the airplane oxygen masks in the hallway. Quite surreal. It did look like the bottle smashed first but he def was shot from behind. I watched the ep again straight after. My daughter reckons I'm obsessed! I enjoy it more the second time round though cos it makes more sense!

Russell was telling Mariel what Healey had told him about the hybrids in Cuba and Mexico commiting suicide etc and that Healey thought Tom was the key to the hybrids in Homestead flourishing because he must be a stablizing influence so he had to survive to keep the situation under control. Mariel replied that what else would she do but try everything to keep her husband alive? Hope that helps.

oh thanks for that. So even Healey thinks Tom is deeply involved with the whole alien invasion.

Yes,I agree.Think Russel's feelings for Mariel are stronger than for larkin.

I thought it was a top episode though

Who needs Relate? Thought it a bit weird that Tom's wife had just died and he was hitting on Mariel straight away! Must be the hybrid way. William Fichtner who plays Tom is doing a blinding job though. Totally convincing whether he's being sinister, dying or sweet to Rose.

I enjoyed this ep and thought it was really well done. It is an interesting point about Rose. I wonder how long it was after Mariel met Tom that she slept with him?
