sorry guys, had exam this morning. Yes, they clone the people, they leave most things inside of them from their normal body plus a bit of goos good ol' alien DNA for good luck. I think that there was no mix up with jesses blood donation from mariel, its just that her blood type has changed from her encounter. Doctor even said there was too much haemoglobin, only DOLPHINS and WHALES have that amount in them...

thanx legacy!! i so knew thats wat they were doing, but thought it might spoil it for some people if i discussed it. Do we know why they are cloning people?
Also, i'ver heard that Tom was the first to be 'invaded'. Do we know more about him yet?
I know why they are cloning people, and i also know how tom was the 1st to be invaded. But I can only tell u if ask me. Ordinary UK wont find out till a month and a week

FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN1) Tom was the 1st to be invaded and the old skeleton is his (well, what used to be him, the skeleton is almost 10 years old), it was encased by the skeleton of one of the creatures that got him, he may have been wearing his ring during the process.(2) It seems that the aliens are cloning people to slowly dominate the country, but that theory can only be backed when i watch the latest usa episode today (no.13).

Simple Emma, i will explain. Creatures that can be underwater for long times like whales and dolphins, have higher amounts of haemoglobin in their blood (helps more oxygen to get to their heart until they submerge for air). This allows them to stay underwater for long periods. And since these aliens practically live underwater, it is a possiblity that they have the same amount (or more) of 'globin'. When the aliens 'chose' their prey, they inject all sorts of stuff into the body, hence leaving their DNA inside them. It seems that Mariel and the others have higher amount of globin in their blood, allowing them to stay underwater for long periods. It also seems that they need loads of water too, so in turn, they are almost becoming part human/fish. Hope that helps

I'm up on the current episodes too but think it is best not to ruin the show but so far you have kept your scooperamas on the border and not revealed everything which is great .. so does that mean there is an alien clone of mariel walking about somewhere, like a twin so there is two of her???!! confused about the cloning thing dudes!
from what i have seen, the original body dies and is left at the bottom of the river. The new body (with alien dna and all that) is the one thta you see now. The victims still have the memories from their old bodies. There is an episode (i think no.9) where Mariel even sees her old body in the lake and it freaked her out.

Why kill the original body?? Why actually clone them? Surely the aliens could find another way of giving the humans their DNA other than killing them and then cloning them.
However, it makes sense now that the skelton in the trunk was Tom's seeing as the ring was in there too.
Like it, this is getting more and more intriguing as the weeks go on!
