i actually missed what Tom said,but it has something to do with her not being healthy. Healy was spit out because he was sick,they don't take you when you are sick. Tom said Kira had something when she was a kid...but some started talking when he said it and I missed it...anyone hear what he said?

yeah thats what I mean Eoin. I heard Tom talking to Lewis saying "she can never be like us" or something.

and the fact that she was rejected obviously means theres something wrong with her. but what?

unless shes anemic. I mean no offense to the actress but she looks pretty anemic.

In this episode you mention, Underlay mentions that something was wrong with her heart...something like a pacemaker fitted or a whole in her heart and says that they don't take you unless you are perfect...meaning like him and Mariel. Hope this helps and hope you are all enjoying this fantastic show.

Hi,
Kira has a defect in one of heart valves- i think it must be genetic-
the aliens dont touch people who are not genetically perfect ie just people who will not become ill in the future-
physical perfection doesnt matter since they took Lewis- they can repair damage to the person also as there genetic code is okay

very good point there about them not seeing to be bothered about physical imperfections as they took Lewis.

They obviously are chooisng the humans that are 'perfect' so that they will go on to create 'prefect' hybrids also.

Why did they take the deputy? He was not perfect he had lost an arm, but grew a new arm. Surely if they are that clever they can grow a new heart valve. Plus when Tom was shot his body had powerful healing properties.

i dont think they can change things to do with blood and dna and that sort of thing. everyone gets a new body when they have been invaded thats why Lewis had a new arm.

I can't believe I missed that!! I heard Tom mention that Keira could never become one of them, but I thought it was a different reason that would be revealed later. I didn't realise she had a faulty heart. It makes sense though, if the only reason the 'lights' are taking people is to use them as egg pods.
