I don't think i can be anymore clear than this

All i can say for that episode is "WOW" i was sat tense in my seat the whole time!!!! russell has to be a hybred, he was restless at the start with all the otheres, he was havving a go at jesse, tom couldnt sleep and muriel was scrubbing the floor, now, tom knows as much as russell, he too has been blocked out from szura's plan! i cant wait for the next episode and i wanna know how tom and russ are gonna save all the humans

p.s. i think tom may have to spill to russell soon about whats been happening, well atleast what he knows

Yet more clues that Russell is a hybrid as he was just as restless as the other known hybrids. They keep dropping these little clues for us! lol!

Was astounded that he asked Mariel to go away with him and the kids. It lookd like he had no intention in asking his pregnant wife to come along as well!! Seems like he is sticking with the other hybrids after all!

I know there are subtle hints he may be a hybrid,like being able to stay under water for long,but I realy don't think he is one and I really hope he is not one,because it will be a stupid plot twist and I'd actually stop watching.

well there is no point to stop watching it really because the episodes are ging up to 22 and were already on 20 (on E4) so if we found out next epoisode, the tensions proberly gonna be soooo high due to the new storm and all that ull probs want to watch the last one neway lol! iv been thinking and i think its gonna be tom who kills szura in the end, a big showdown in the water or something will be really cool BUT russell comes in the last few mins to see szura kill tom and russell has to finish the job in a hybred form. that would be a real cool ending

very interesting last night. tom definitely didnt know about szura's involvement with the military - brings it back to when christine told tom 'you don't know as much as you think you do', or something similar.

also, although tom was restless during the night (could have been his ultra sensitive hearing - i.e. mariel scrubbing the floor) he wasnt 'aware' of the impending hurricane in the same way the other 'hybrids' were, and he certainly didnt react the same way. could it be that the hybrids have evolved more/differently, even in the 10 years since tom became one.

ps - btw i also hope russell isn't an alien

I hope Russell IS an alien for the sake of the show as it would be a great plot twist and get us all watching next season for sure!

I think BlankFrank your point about the hybrids having evolved even since the time is an interesting one as that would be they have super evolved since Russell became one which is why he is not affected by being an alien in the same way as the new hybrids!

Apparently, I have read, that the end of this season fully comes to a conclusion about the hybrids just in case they didnt get the permission to do another season which is good cos at least we wont be left hanging!

interesting point about russell being an alien -when tom & russell fight, russell backs off after tom hits him back, mentioning the hybrids superior strength/abilities as he does. either russell isnt a hybrid, or he is 'less' evolved, or he doesn't want to reveal his true powers.

btw - the reason i don't want russell to turn out a hybrid is because that would only leave a couple of actual 'humans' (& we're not even sure who is!)

for the story to be truly effective i feel we need a few human characters & not 99% hybrid.

also intersting was mariels reaction to tom when questioned about the stocks of water - very creepy - get the feeling that although mariel may have maternal feelings, 'her' survival is paramount.

I thought the same thing when Russell said to Tom something like 'I know you are stronger than us' and I thought to myself he might not simply mean just humans but another variety of hybrid.

I see how the show would still need some humans though. Like the teacher was telling Rose's class there needs to be balance in the world and that's where you would need humans and hybrids.

Mariel's reaction to Tom's questioning was a tell-tale sign of how she is actually a different form of hybrid than Tom. There need for water seems to be different than Tom's kind who I have seen any fascination with water (I might have missed it though!)

I think even better than that would be if Tom, Russell and Zsura were all fight in the water and then Szura gets the better of Tom then turns on Russell and thinks I could drown him but when he tries it doesn't work and Russell rises out of the water, Szura's shcoked face as he realises Russell is a hybrid after all! Love it! Probably wont happen at all but hey we can create our own Invasion ending if it turns out a big 'happy ever after ending'!!!

Good episode i actually enjoy small fight between Russel & Tom, Ruseel kid going all psyco was worth it. i can't wait for next week.

I keep thinking of the title of this episode. It obviously relates to Russell and Jesse but I cant think what its meaning could possibly be. Does it mean that the son 'jesse' also rises as a hero or as a nutter like the father?! Im undecided.

The episode, The Son Also Rises, might be a pun on words to the story "The Sun Also Rise" by Ernest Hemingway.

neither. he doesn't rise as a hero or a nutter. he rises as an ordinary person, struggling to come to terms with everything thats happened and beginning to realise that he can no longer rely completely on his parents.


I think the episode title refers to the fact that Jesse is not a kid anymore and that he is starting to take matters into his own hands.
