they have no chemistry and it is wrong for them to be together. i think this could end up being of those things that a scriptwriter regrets and spends years fixing. eg karl and susan kennedy were broke up for a bit of continuity but by the time the writers realised how bad a mistake it was izzy was heavily pregnant "by karl" and he obvilious to her evil. it took them another year to break them up and they had to invent a relatioship with alex kinski for susan just to give her a story. then they had to make them both available and fall back in love. jake and nancy might start dating, in secret, then it becomes public, the community hates it as do the majority of the public and then theyve got to break them up. although i think charlie will do it for them there. kevin and jessica are unconvincing as a couple, i believe in them 0%, i believe nancy should get with either a new character or someone like gilly (even though i dont see them together) whereas jake needs to learn from his mistakes re becca ( the way he spoke the other day about becca being his ideal woman shows he hasnt learnt where they went wrong as a couple etc) so that he doesnt make the same mistakes again and he should date someone thats closer to his age and not a teenager again (lisa who like nancy was vulnerable and wanted someone to look out for her not take advantage) nor should he shoot above his weight like he did with becca. his lack of ambition was obvious and still is, he is able to get ajob despite his conviction but wont and id conternt to work in the pub. someone like, an older mcqueen girl or louise wouild do though loiuse loves warren adn the mcqueens are gonna hate deans when craig has left the village as a straight person and broke their brothers heart.
its wrong cos of becca but even if they werent related, its still wrong, shes too young and vulnerable. thats just how jake likes em though so i suppose. he has a history. how can anyone find it sweet? do you think that becca would be clapping her with glee that her sister is sleeping with her husband and bare in mind that (whilst i think she didnt) becca fell back in love with jake in the end before dying and do you think shed be doing cartwheels at jake sleeping with her sister, the ultimate betrayal and proof he hasnt really changed and she was wrong to go bcak to him.
the only reason this makes a good story is that its wrong for them due to their being related and hopefully it will lead to people realising that jake is at least 33% responsible for the marriage going wrong and actually realise jake is a pretty bad character and not some god-like being. a lot of people are fooled by the man who thinks its ok to kidnap people, beat people up and generally make their life hell as long as youve got motive. jake needs a comeuppance and hopefully this story facilitates this as he will lose everyone through nancy and charlie and it cant happen to a nicer bloke.
and no justin isnt my fave character, i just can see the faults and good points in both jake and justin and whilst justin has rightly been pillioried for what he has done, jake has escaped with his image intact but what he has done is worse. hell be seen as yucky for this and even if he loves nancy i cant see her chosing him when charlie out.
It's my current favourite storyline. They have great chemistry and for probably the first time in Hollyoaks history, i'm actually rooting for a couple. Other pairings have either grossed me out, worn out their welcome, or been superficial. It would be nice for Jake and Nancy to find a little happiness for a change and it's obvious that they make each other happy. Hollyoaks writers are doing a good job of actually showing rather than telling. Makes a nice change.

but it is sick, sick, sick as shes very vulnerable and needs jake as a big brother not as someone to take advantasge of her. jake is in the wrong as he knows shes vulnerable. they will think they are in love but by the time they realise they arent the damage will have been done and theyll not even be friends anymore, though frankly after the way jake treats people thatll actually be a blessing for nancy. jake is an adult, he should start acting like one and realise there are consequences when he has sex, he never accepted his part in the lisamess (ive got an sti, ive cheated, ps. marry me) or his marriage breakup (if hed treated her right shed not have fallen out of love with him) and he isnt here. just because becca is dead doesnt mean it is right. they are still related, she is his sister-in-law and if he claims becca is the love of his life why sleep with her sister in what is the ultimate act of betrayal? thsi isnt what becca meant by take care of my sister. yes jake deserves happiness, but he will not find it with nancy. he knows this as if he felt shed make him happy hed date in public not behind closed doors like some sordid secret which is what happens in the beginning until it is outted. when the community realise what jake is doing, i doubt if theyl get much support and this is the only thing that makes this story, the controversy. they will see jake as doing wrong and nancy as vulnerable and when the charlie lie is public knowledge hopefully the community will treat jake like a social leper and realise he isnt a victim of justin, but he is the perpetrator of somethimg much much worse on the youth of the village, his victims lisa, nancy and justin and lets not forget hes potentially homophobic, so jp and craig might suffer also. the scriptwriters are building this story to make us see how nancy and jake think theyre in love, so they are giving consideration to taking the next step, but wheres the thought for becca? there is no chemistry because kevin has none, he never had any with ali and he has living with her and even if he was dating jacqui on screen thered be none there either, he is unconvincing as a romantic lead, he should be a single character like gilly is perenially. due to jessicas height and the fact she looks the age she plays it emphasises the wrongness of this pairing as nancy clearly looks like a schoolgirl to jakes adult thus meaning it looks pervy. the only point of this stroy is to show the wrongness if it and whilst i understand that the characters think its genuine they also know it is wrong. it is this conflict that is the purpose of the story, this and giving more heartache to nancy as she will inevitably learn the truth that she has betrayed her sister in the ultimate way and she cannot make it up to her. her guilt will more watchable as will jakes comeuppance. every character gets punished at some point, clare thia week, justin this week, jake has gone unpunished but this stroryline sets the wheels in motion for jakes downfall. he clearly thinks he can get away with anything and no doubt hel go for the mother next for the hat-trick that or his next victim will be someone like hannah after all she fits the bill - young but legal, vulnerable, he can blame her and shell not blame him in return..... jake is making nancy think she loves him, the way he is acting jealous around her, flirting almost with her, she will start to fell that she can only depend on him and then bam! none of this is deliberate, jake isnt aware he is doing it, but that just makes it worse. he wraps it all up in this package of good looks, charm and poor me, poor me whilst playing the single-dad card and widow to the hilt. he is a predator, if he was any older, hed be a dirty old man and would be hateed, if heis victims were younger, hed be a pedophile, what he is doing is no diffwerent. he is grooming nancy.
no, because she looks like she a schoolkid and hes an adult. just because its laegal doesnt make it right. its predictable and will end badly for all concerned which makes me feel for nancy as she doesnt deserve it but feel nothing for jake as hopefully this is one person too many that he has ruined. this time it might be the one that sees him bear the brunbt for a change.

Seriously, FLL, you seem to see every action of Jake's through this dark lens. Perhaps, though, the darkness is in your mind and not on screen.
As for Jake and Nancy, it's clear they care a lot about each other and it's only their guilt about Becca that's stopping them getting together. At some point they'll both realise they have to move on and start living their lives for themselves and not for her and I hope they end up together.
This is, however, Hollyoaks and happy endings are rarer than perjury convictions...unfortunately.
