i hate it when they give parts to peeps younger than they are, its not too bad ova ere but in the states is stupid especially in smallville, most of the cast are 30+ n playin 18/19 yr olds.

i think its ok 2 giv actors who r in their 20s parts that r only meant 2 b 16 or so if they luk rite im 21 but every1 always thinks im bout 16 coz i look younger than i am

Yes but that canbe very difficult for the TV company as there are laws that prevent the younger cast members from working over a certain amount of time a day and it can be hard to get any filming done.

I read somewhere that Ellis Hollins (Tom) was born in 2000...which makes him the same age as his character, 6. Bless!!!

Why don't they get people the ages of the charcters? It's a bit crazy really. I mean I'm 11, I wouldn't play like someone who's like 13 or 14 even though I look about that age.

its not too bad ova ere for peeps playin there own ages but jessica fox is 23 n she is playin a 16 ur old, its worse in the states but its not too bad ova ere but it wud b nice for the character to b the same age as the person playin em

i know when i heard jessica fox was 23 i was shocked!

The problem is that because of the child labour laws they could not film enough material to fill five episodes a week if they employ people that are the same age as their characters.

Back in the days when Hollyoaks was on twice a week it was possible to do this which is why Sarah Dunn is the same age as her character.

its all to do with labour lawa, number of hours they can work and having to provide teachers on set etc, so it is easier and cheaper for them to have older members playing teenagers etc,

at least the uk is not as bad as america, take beverly hills 90210 nearly all the actors were at least 10 years older than the character they played,

and olivia newton john was a lot older than her character in grease (she was 30 at the time!!!!) as she was born in 1948 and filmed grease in 1978!!!
