did you watch that movie with Brad pitt fight club..

Brad pitt wasnt real but all the way through we thought he was..

not saying that it is that and I could be way off,

but we could just be seeing what Newt wants us to see..

This is just how it could be imaginary

Dont think it will be a mental ilness re Newt, i think it would be a defence mechanism to deal with something bad and you can explore the complexities that is Newt.

Here i go again over analysing a story that hasnt even happened.. might as well give up sanity now lol

Watching it on E4 now, he looks imaginary as noone can see him in the pub. I want him to be real though...

eli is deffo imaginary....proof is from today's e4 ep. he was prancing around the pub talkin to newt and nobody even saw him or acknowlegde that he was there, he even said sometime to tom and tom totally didnt even flicker.

also, in the video spoilers for next week, where he's hiding under the bed and wants newt to get the videocam back from jack so jack wont see him... i just think the reason newt needs the camera back is so jack wont see him talking to himself

I hope he is imaginary, it's just so weird and interesting! And I love weird things. I wander what it's like for the actor playing a character that no one else can see?

Imaginary. Which I think is quite silly to be honest if he is. Seems like they are resorting to tactics used by Home and Away to show the mental instability of a character.

I did a paper on dealing with traumatic events, and imaginary friends in my phychology class when i was doing my alevel.

its very common for kids who have experiance trauma to have imaginary friends... so am not suprised that HO are adressing it

I haven't seen the E4 episode today- wish I had now! But in today's episode onCh4 I began to think he was imaginary. I thought like some others on here- nobody else seems to see him and walk past like there's nobody there. It may be the start of a schizophrenia storyline.
I haven't seen Fightclub but this reminded me of The Sixth Sense when it's only at the end of the film that you realise Bruce Willis was dead and hasn't actually spoken to anyone but the little boy.

I think they are doing what they did on Fight club and Eli's just another part of Newt's personality.

He's quite fit though.

Just a random point but I have the same name as Brad Pitt in fight club. I'm so cool.

He's gotta be imaginary, its pretty obvious but maybe it might turn out he isn't.

I not sure if its the lad newt found dead when he was only eight,my sisters might think it is. I think it might not be because newt thinks eli is real.

Eli keeps saying to newt come away with me. Eli might of killed himself and he's telling newt to do the same thing but I don't know!

He certainly seems to be imaginary. It all hints at schizophrenia; is it a rebellious or suicidal manifestion of Newt's psyche? Perhaps...?
