Just my thoughts on the current storyline really...and it's more of a lament rather than a rant...cannot even get worked up about this .
You see, although I've been looking forward to the whole 'Niall's revenge' plot unfolding, I am actually a bit worried that the whole implausability of 'JP falls for priest that suddenly appears in the McQueen household' may somewhat ruin it for me. I mean what was all that about last night - JP modelling in a fashion show wearing fake tan at the same time as being the DJ???? *shakes head*
And I know that the JP / priesty plot has been thrown together so that Niall has ammunition on JP, but I am finding this priest very creepy, and am just hoping that Niall sorts him out quick smart! Shouldn't this priest be out helping the poor and needy rather than helping himself to a teenage boy??!! As I've said before, he was dishonest and misleading from the start when he didn't tell Mercy that he was an actual priest in his very first scene. And I bet he's one of those lame sorts of characters that goes to pieces in a confrontation and blames everyone else. And what's happened to that seemingly heartfelt 'vocation' speech he made only a few weeks ago - hastily forgotten???? And yes, have to mention again - I just cannot believe that JP would fall for a priest - I mean how secret can a relationship to be??!!!
And lastly, (sorry Maria!) I don't find this priest at all cute either, so I'm 100% struggling with this storyline and would still do even if I wasn't a huge McDean fan. It seems such a shame that this is the follow-on plot. Would have liked to have seen something along the lines of JP and his dad's relationship explored or some sort of college storyline. Oh well.

I just didn't feel the moment last night! And the line that JP came out with was so silly. He's a Catholic Priest, it doesn't matter if JP's in the market or not, Priesty shouldn't be (though we all know he will be). I love that episode Ali. They had amazing chemistry there. It was all in their eyes. JP and Craig were in a different league then when it came to chemistry.

Priesty was certainly looking a bit lustful last night I thought - and I fear he'll only get worse *cringes*
I'm wondering if JP said he wasn't in the market because he thought he and priesty may have had a slight 'moment' over the turntables (this may have been the writers' intention even if you didn't feel it lol!). Perhaps JP felt bad about starting to get lustful thoughts for a priest and was trying to tell himself 'no'??? Don't know - just a thought.
Given that JP and priesty will at the very least snog, I think that for me, the ideal way forward for this storyline would be for JP to want to back out of a relationship after his initial lust-driven attraction. Priesty then blackmails JP into carrying on their 'fling' and keep it quiet - with priesty threatening to show Myra incriminating yet misleading photos perhaps suggesting that JP tries it on with priests . Then Niall could find out about the affair - not realising that JP is being blackmailed though - and dispose of the priest (thereby doing all concerned a HUGE favour lol!) and JP later confesses all to Niall about actually being blackmailed. Niall then feels even more torn about his revenge given that he's had a similar history himself, so then Niall goes and does in Nanna McQueen and her alone as it was all her fault anyway that he was given away!! There!! Much better lol!!

i do get the whole implausability of the story, if i had a choice i wish it wouldnt happen. JP got to grow up another way. It was Rom com who mentioned it on another thread that its sensationalism
JP has changed as a character dont like the new JP at all he bugs, he really bugs... but well my view is its going to happen so i want to try and pull all the good bits out of it
- JP grows up and is ready for Craigs return - Nial gets to be really sinister - JP doesnt get to be so self righteous for once - JP and Myra relationship is explored
The question is where are they going to go with JP characater after this and i dont have a clue.

It is sensationalism - pure and simple. This is what really annoys me about the storyline. And Maria, you're right they are changing the character of JP. He's such a huge hypocrit. From one secret affair to pining after a man he CANNOT be with!
Ali, I think you may have hit the nail on the head earlier when you commented that JP may have just said what he did to warn himself off Kieron. But to me there was no moment. It just felt cringeworthy. It reminds me a bit of Beth and Rhys. I found that interesting at first but now it's just so wooden and the actors are saying their lines but not feeling them. This is how I viewd the whole of McPriest. They're ruining JP's character completely. A while ago I was lusting after him. But it's not this JP, it's the one from McDean who actually made some sense to me. I know throughout the whole McDean saga, Craig was hard to understand but that was down to his own confusion. We are still not getting an insight into JP's mind.
Is it there kiss tonight?
Shame on you Maria for lusting after Priesty!!! What will Craig say?

duh!!!! JP can't take HO anymore and emotionally falls apart thinking how stupid he was at the airport, then a certain someone comes back from Dublin all grown up and super sexy, and kisses him in public!!!! Then they go off and start a new life together...............

I think sensationalism combined with the need to come up for something that Niall can reveal about JP in order to hurt Myra.
And the secrecy element just goes 100% against everything JP said at the airport. I know we're supposed to be seeing a very lonely and downhearted JP, but I still think that the original JP would have had more strength of character and would have said 'no' to any sort of secret relationship - and most certainly to one with a priest of all people lol!!
I must admit romcom that I didn't get the feeling of a moment either - and somehow don't think I ever will during this storyline. I am cringing with you!!

i also loved it wen sarah found out i hate her so it was fun lol
I'm watching HO now. It's looking like the naffest episode I have ever seen. How come they can do drama really well when they want it to and then other times it's really laughable. Haven't seen any McPriest yet but I am not looking forward to it.

guys i know that priests have affairs. my aunt had one with our parish priest and she had a son by him. he never left the priesthood said that it was his vocation. i told her that she was probably caught up in the thornbirds aspect of it but she never had anyone after him. so when i hear people say that its impossible for priests to have relationships i just smile because i know it's possible.
i find FK to be hot(Maria01 u r not alone)but i believe he will be a learning curve for JP. he believes everything should be black and white.he will see that the grey areas are what makes us human and that love should be unconditional and not the way JP wanted Craig to be. i can't wait for SE. i'm hooked on this storyline. this is just the part where the lovers are apart before the great climax!
Oh! I like The Thornbirds but at least they had chemistry on the programme.
JP and Priesty don't.
Hopefully it will lead us to the SE though I have a feeling they could abandon it.

Ok Real life took me away so i miss the one episode i so needed to watch. well theres alway tomorrow.
about chemistry, not seen the episode so cant really comment but a friend of mines once said theres the chemistry you have with your first love, you soul mate you equal. And theres the chemistry that comes with everthing after that. I dont think anything will equal JP first chemistry.
Haven yep agree priest have affairs, but Kieron appears all to willing to have a relationship and theres no major, i shouldnt moment, its like his decided that part of his vocation he isnt going to stick with. But as his cute i'll let him off.
