Gemma Bissix when receiving an award at the British Soap Awards said three awards shows how good Hollyoaks is.

Er, not really. One was for best looking female for Roxanne McKee, not for best actress and one was for best comedy performance by Carmel, which would be one to be proud of IF Hollyoaks was a comedy!

don be so rediculous - no soap is a "comedy" it ais supposed to reflect real life in a village/area. ANd in real life there are funny characters hence shows having comedy awards. She deserved the award through and through as she is a talented comedy actress. Roxanne is a very stunning girl and so why wouldnt she win and as for gemma bissix winning best villain - you try doing all the scenes the girl has had to do and then come on here and start telling us that they didnt deserve them. Go back to watching cbeebies.

Every soap has comedy characters and comedic-driven stories which is why there is an award for best comedy performance, it's the same with villians etc.

Comedic acting is just as hard as dramatic acting as you have to make the audience laugh, you have to make it believable and all comedy characters have to be likeable - it's not easy!

Both Gemma's did really well to win their awards, as for Roxanne winning sexiest female rather than best actress - it's worth pointing out that best actor/actress/soap are voted by the public not the panel and as brilliant as hollyoaks is it simply doesn't have enough viewers or voters to win these awards.

This is why Antony Cotton won best actor, his award was for popularity more than anything else! If the panel voted for the big 3 awards surely James Sutton would have been in there for best actor and hollyoaks possibly could have beat corrie to best soap

You should be watching Cbeebies with a comment like that. Giving awards for best looking people makes others feel inferior and is what causes depression, eating disorders etc. Roxanne is a talented actress but if she gets an award it should be for her acting skills not her looks.

I never said Gemma didn't deserve an award. I just said her comment about the three awards that Hollyoaks won show isn't the case when one of them is for best looking actress.

I think you are also underestimating the value of the three actors going through to the final nominations for best actor and actress i.e. James Sutton, Chris Fountain and Jessica Fox. I believe this is a first for Hollyoaks.
