hollyoaks i watched every epp of skins and i cant recal cassey having anorexia unless that why she went to that place and sid went to see her in the first series but i can rember hannahs anorexia really well as it was acted brilliantly

I don't think Skins ever intended Cassie to be a ploy to show the effects of anorexia. I think it was just part of her character, something to be accepted as you watched her.
So with that said, you can't really compare the two, as Hollyoaks was the only one of the two that actually had an anorexia storyline.
Hollyoaks was much better at doing this storyline. Is it just me, or does Skins copy Hollyoaks slightly? E.g - Chris going out with Angie (his teacher) - Remind you of Justin and Becca? Also Cassie's anorexia - like Hannah.

I feel that both Hollyoaks and Skins did well to cover the subject as it is not an easy subject to cover on screen. Both had there advantages and disadvantages to the matter but they both tried their best to cover it quickly and most effectively.

i don't think you can compare the two..cassie had one episode on anorexia, whereas hannah had loads. They both did really well, but cassie's anorexia wasn't a defining point of her character whereas i think with hannah it is.

If you claim that, you could claim that Hollyoaks copies Dawson's Creek and programmes like Canada's Degrassi. Neither are subjects Hollyoaks pioneered, although Hollyoaks is probably the best soap portrayal of anorexia to date. Teen dramas will always have similar storylines, because teens will always have the same dramas.
I think both did well, but youve got to remember that hollyoaks is a soap and skins only has 9/10 episodes per series so hollyoaks has much more time to explore the storyline.
As a couple of others mentioned you cant really compare the 2, because it was a stroyline in hollyoaks and more of a character flaw type thing in skins. but i think that emma did a really good job with the storyline. and that hannah who plays cassie did a brilliant job at making you feel really sorry for cassie.
