i love the john paul and craig storyline but if craig were to come back for say a few episodes and leave again but this time with james i dont get whats the big deal in that, i would rather james stayed in the soap then both of them "go off into the sunset" cause really they wont be at least if craig came back properly we would actually be able to see them and the storyline but otherwise, i dont think its a good idea at all
I don't want the sunset ending either but just because i was never really a big McDean fan, though i don't mind Craig coming back and filming a few episode to kind of round it up, finally! lol

If we could get what we really wanted then both James and Guy would stay in hollyoaks. that would be perfect. *thinks this would be a pipe dream*
But both James and Guy are ambitious and young and as actors want to try new things so a Sunset Ending rounding up the story that was unfinished ie Craig comming to terms with his sexuality and JP understanding why it was so hard for craig and then them swanning of into the sunset would be a great finish to the angst ridden love story.
am a poor romatic and the airport episode just had you shouting at Craig to kiss John Paul and also shouting at John Paul to understand and give Craig time.. so seemed so unfinished and sad..
basically an end that sees the story end happy

As Maria has said above - having a SE would be brilliant as I'm a huge romantic as well. I think it would also be great because soaps (especially HO is a learning curve) and I'd like to see them go onto something different so they can extend their acting skills.

But I will add, it would also be so lovely to have a happy ending to a gay storyline. The love these 2 boys shared was just beautiful and so so real...it would be perfect it they could prove everyone wrong and really work, they have the love now they just need the chance to prove it.

Frankly, I find John-Paul's character to be the dumping ground for 'scandalous' storylines. The affair involving sexual confusion, the gay priest debate (which has been handled very badly in terms of the actual debate, in my opinion, with Kieron claiming devotion to his practice, but shown doing almost nothing but breaking his vows), what next? I say give the lad a normal, healthy relationship with a boyfriend that's not off limits due to engagement to a woman or commitment to god, or let him go.

on a serious note i agree with you, John Paul and Craig where a original story, i am surprised that John Pauls character got thrown into another sexuality story, would have prefered for him to have a story which explored his family dynamics directly or something completely different
but alas that is not the case hence i will watch where there going with this story and hope that it leads to the end and finalisation of the original mcdean story

a sunset ending is just what this story needs, JP will never ever feel things for other guys like he does for Craig and Craig is the same, he wasn't ready to be outed to the community but if he were to return and him and Jp went of into the sunset together for a great and loving future together then yes to the sunset ending! James Sutton and Guy Burnet are both great actors that can spread their wings in other areas if they wanted to.
We all know that one day James is going to leave HO and when he does that's where the sunset ending comes in with Guy. Although that may be a while and personally I wouldn't mind Guy coming back and just shooting a few episodes, just a few and leave the sunset ending to the distant future when James finally decides to leave.
I somewhat want a sunset ending, however, it would be so much jucier if they put a twist to it, with JP finally coming back to craig and then they do leave on the airplane to dublin but it's blown up by al qaida or something.

I know what you mean. I find it annoying and it's not portraying him in a very favourable light at the moment. If they don't bring Craig back scrap the affairs/priests/sensational storylines and give him a decent boyfriend. But I can't see them doing that since it is a soap after all and he's the only gay in the village.

i reli dont want john paul to leave .. james suttons an amazing actor and the cahracter makes me laugh and is so sweet.
James Sutton and Guy Burnet are both great actors that can spread their wings in other areas if they wanted to.
