First off - he can act - i just hate the character.

He is such a buffoon. Everytime I hear or see him doing something I am reminded of those zombies from Shaun of the Dead. Limited intelligence and unparalled stupidity.

When are the Ashworths going to wise up and get rid of this fool? Will they still let him stay when he is 45 and Rhys has long since ran away and got married to Beth (kidding!)?

i really like gilly as i think he's a really genuine guy,he also sticks by rhys,even though he's beaten him up a fair few times,and hannah,even though she accused him of rape as she was ill.
and i think he can act!i just wish he'd do something with his gair!lol.

He irritates me. He just goes and assumes. That he can invite somebody to live in a house that's not his, he dislikes somebody and assumes the worst about them because of that, etc.

i think if id seen what hed seen id assume the same as far as simons concerned.

he knew something was wrong with hannah when no one else did and he made them suspicious of what, although he thought drugs and was accused of rape.

hes a decent guy who for some reason actually likes rhys whne he has shown himself to be a slimeball and not a good mate. however he believed hannah because shes his sister so i get that.

anthony is very underrated and underappreciated and at least with the beth story and, hannah and tom/simon story hes getting used. just wish hed get to be the main man in it for once.

and get a haircut.!!!

BTW is he a student? Because I remember him pretending to be a student to impress Jess, but I do not remember if he then actually became one. I only know he works in Nev's shop.

His character is a bit "nothingy" he's meant to be Rhys's best mate but even he's fed up with him so why does he still hang about, why is he in the show, what's the point of him!

The real planks are Justin and Rhys - they don't add anything dramatic to the show and should be given the boot.

Gilly is great and I would hate it if he left.
He's practically part of the Ashworth family.

Would be interesting to find out a bit more about Gilly's background, however, and why he is an adoptive member of the Ashworths. Why isn't he living with his own family and in particular, what made him follow the Ashworths when they moved to Hollyoaks from Manchester?

fair enuff his character aint done much until now but i love gilly, hes a really nice guy n he looks out for his friends!!

he clearly loves rhys else why would he stay when rhys has accused him of attempted rape on hannah, thumping him for the beth thingy last week and staying when rhys screwed up his relationship with that foreign girl - danish i think (i think he doesnt actually know rhys did anything but still, rhyus was clearly jealous he had a girl and he was single).

i think theres just him and his mum and they dont get along so he looks to the ashworths to fill the holes. nevilles his daddy, suzanne his mum and the kids, his siblings.

i think hes the centred one in the family, hes the one they sorta confide in (suzanne when her and nev were having problems, when rhys was a giggolo), the one who knows when somethings wrong (hannah bullimia), the family member that no matter how much flack they take they forgive (rhys treatment of him).

as a character he has been criminally underdeveloped. as someone said we know nowt about him really but hopefully now that hes involed in the simon/ tom and rhys/ beth stories the writers will realise and use him more and develop him futher.

as an actor he is criminally underused also. i think anthony quinlan is by far the better actor in scenes between rhys and gilly and i pretty much think hes actually holding the incest story together at the mo. hopefully his reward for these secondary roles in these stories will be to be teh lead in his own story.

hes not a pointless charcter, hes just being made to appear so.
