acording to the sun (yes i know) chris fountain is to quit hollyoaks.
He has been given an ultimatum by Hollyoaks bosses, return to his £70,000-a-year job when the show finishes (dancin on ice) or leave.
They have refused to give him time off to do the planned tour and ITV’s lump sum offer looks likely to tempt Chris to leave the soap he joined in 2003.
“He’s been told it’s the tour or Hollyoaks and now ITV have offered him £100,000 to stick with them. That’s the clincher.”

Firstly, This is a newspaper. A very unreliable source.
Secondly, I don't see a reason why the producers would give him an ultimatum like that, given that there would be a small chance Chris doing the tour could prove more positive for the show than it could negative.
Bryan Kirkwood has been known to say before now that Chris is one of his finest actors on the show, and I can't see why he would allow him to leave if it's no necessary.
If it is true, I wish Chris luck with anything he does in future. He's extremely talented and I can't imagine he'd be short of offers. I'd miss him, but it's his choice.
I still won't believe it completely until we have confirmation from a reliable source.

I wont believe it until it has been confirmed by a reliable source not some newspaper that has in the past been revealed as unreliable for 'exclusives'.
The ds forum has only got the story from the sun. Its not on the news section on ds.
Channel 4 has denied reports that Chris Fountain is due to quit Hollyoaks for the live Dancing on Ice tour.
On Tuesday The Sun reported that Chris, 20, who plays Justin Burton in the teen soap, had been given an ultimatum by Hollyoaks bosses to choose the soap or the tour, after they apparently refused to give him time off.
The paper claimed he was offered £100,000 to do the Dancing On Ice tour.
But a Hollyoaks spokeswoman said: "It's not true. He's in negotiations at the moment for his Hollyoaks contract and he's on the verge of signing it. He came in this morning and he was laughing about [the story]. He said, 'I wish'."
Chris, who used to play ice hockey for Bradford, has wowed ITV1's Dancing On Ice judges and viewers with his moves on the rink and topped the leaderboard at the weekend with his partner Frankie Poultney.
But despite his flair for ice dancing, it seems Chris will stay loyal to Hollyoaks, which he joined in 2003.
it's pure rubbish, Bryan Kirkwood has said lots of times he's staying and signing a new contract, Chris is loyal 2 Hollyoaks and he wouldn't betray them.
Hollyoaks is the best soap ever!. Man Utd are the best football team!!!.Dance Music is the best music ever,my name is Faizal.
I hope there is no truth in it, I would so miss Justin!!

When Bryan Kirkwood made his statement about Chris last year he even said he only had a year or two at the very most left. This has changed now Hannah Tointon is leaving and it's possible Hollyoaks had a change of heart.
I wouldn't dismiss The Sun out of hand as there is usually truth behind the story. It could be Chris is aiming for a payrise to put him on a par with some of the other cast members and could use this story as a bargining tool. On the other hand Lime Pictures might not have been aware how much commitment it takes to appear on Dancing on Ice and letting Chris appear to give them some publicity for Hollyoaks has backfired and told him return after the series has ended or you are voted off or we'll let your contract run out and axe you.
After all Lime Pictures have very tight filming scheduals for Hollyoaks and cannot put things on hold for Chris for 4 months to fit in with Dancing on Ice and a tour and possibly longer if he injures himself. They pay Chris to film a certain amount of episodes a year and if he doesn't they could have him for breach of contract and sack him.
"We should always be prepared for future technologies, because otherwise they will come along and clobber us."

Newspapers aren't 'a very unreliable source.' It's tabloid newspapers that are unreliable. Broadsheets are pretty good. =]
Don't want Justin to go =] Nor Katy.

Glad he is staying but Odinlord Bryan Kirkwood never said he only has one or two years left and now that Hannah has gone they is even less. If you have this comment please feel free to post it.
Plus he is one of the most high profile actors and he is on a level in regards payment with the others and doesnt need a pay rise as he makes just as much as James Sutton and Nick Pickard who are two of the highest payers along with a few others.
You just dont like him so will twist every story to suit what you wnat to believe.
Plus it was in The Sun which is the worst paper to get.
If the actors are being paid £70,000 a year, WHY does Hollyoaks look like it is done on the cheap, just look at the sets and the actors' clothes come from Primark ? The show does look rather cheap and tacky !
