on my train back today i did a bit of Keiron analysing (yep its another one of my long posts lol)
In the not trying to repeat myself i do actually like the Priest and JP story line. still dont think it is any where near as good as Craig and JP story, of JP comming out and Craig realising his in love with his best mate whose a bloke.
But the story of the preist and JP has real potential as long as it isnt about JP having another secret relationship.
However for people to like this story they have to feel for Keiron and thats where i think HO have fallen down.
As the way the script is written you are only going to fall for keiorn if
a) you ignore he is a priest and go how good are they together
(b) or you are religious and you understand the huge pressure Kieron is under.
that is because you have no back ground to Keirons character and anything else just seems like
a) a rehash of a past plot another secret relationship for JP (how borring)
b) Nial story line
Personally i have real sympathy for Keiron (think his behaviour is inappropriate, some what disturbing as a result of the desperation) but do have sympathy (please note its sympathy for keiron and not his relationship with JP)The reason for the sympathy is i understand the religious struggle and hence cant help but feel sorry for him. (*plus i still think his hot*)
I also believe that the mass that like him with JP see beyond Keiron being a priest they just see some one willing to ignore a big part of what he believe in to be with JP and someone whose accepting of being gay and is dieing to be with JP.
They dont see a man not willing to tell the world his gay nor whose willing to publically acknowledge JP. (maybe that may come but at the moment no)
But the question i have is as a priest does Keiron accept he is Gay and if so why is he part of a doctrine that believes being gay is a sin.
does he see being gay as a sin and accepts it as a flaw in himself as a human being..
so many questions that with out a background story can not be answered.
the question is will this story go into the nitty gritty stuff of what it is meant to be a priest who is gay and what they think of it or is the story going to be a plot devise in which we see JP and Keiron being written as in love or a relationship of conflict Keiron never being the love of JP life. Which ever route they take its just another relationship but with a guy who happens to be a preist and for whom it is forbidden to have a relationship and how nice his giving it all up for JP. and all the grief it will cause the mcqueens?
