I just read about them in Inside Soap, but we've never had religious or gay/bi/lesbians in it!!

Actually I just remembered Baz who went out wiv Lucy Benson and they were getting a band together wiv carol and lewis and Baz kissed there male manager!!

if you look on the main page of hollyoaks.com, you'll see that theres a black family on their way....

It's all very well and good introducing characters of different ethnic origins..... but you can be sure that when they do it isn't long before people are saying they are "token" characters. So looks like you can't win either way.

Ness1981 - Hollyoaks has had religious/gay/bi/lesbian characters in the past..... Brian, Nick, Baz, Jas, Emily, Gina...

I have a memory block, who's emily!! I've just been racking my brains!! They were along time ago though, they should get some new ones in!!

Actually Zara used to be/was very religious when she was a goth and it wasn't that long ago that Nick left

I think maybe they should get a chinese or indian family or something because I don't think they've ever had...?

i really don't think it matters that much to be honest.....i mean, yeh ok, it would add some diversity...but the show is great as it is and I don't think it matters at all

Don't get me started - yes, they should deffo have some ethnic diversity in Hollyoaks, but please not another family like the Taylors, where they try to pass off a Jamaican boy and an Indian/ Sri Lankan girl as brother and sister. Like,"Ah well, they've both got dark skin, they'll do."

A note to the producers: Do it but do it properly - otherwise it's more insulting to us minorities than not being represented in the show at all!
