if he was like that he'd have tried it on with hannah. but he knew that she had issues and wasnt up for any of that. he knows she has been hospitalised but not for what, but it has clearly damaged her. if he was a slimeball, hed not care about that and want something in return for the dates and drinks he has bought.
he just a normal teenage lad, like any that has been in 'oaks in the past, less like rhys whose only after one thing, or darren the slimeball and more like the late dan hunter or max who want an actual relationship.
he respects hannah, with mercy he didnt respect her as without knowing her he knew her type just by looking at her - and he was right. he has sussed hannah in the same way and shes worth the wait and not just to get her into bed and then bye bye.

He's only been out with her once. I don't think we should be falling at his feet yet just because he didn't try to bed Hannah on the first "date".

Does Danny actually know that Hannah has been in hospital? I don't think he does. When they met, he was quite taken aback that Hannah did not want an alcoholic drink in the SU bar, had he forced the issue Hannah would have had to explain why not (ie. her medication). Hannah is understandably wary about how he'd react about her illness and so far hasn't said anything.
I'm guessing Danny will probably find out via Sasha - being in the same class as Josh at school. I can imagine Sasha warning Danny not to mess her around.

she told him shes been in hospital but she didnt say what for and he didnt ask. its clear therefore to him that she has been some sorta unwell. her behaviour is also that of a very nervy, uncertain person who seems to need reasurance and for it to stay lighthearted and hes not pushing her.
im not saying we bow down at his feet but we cant castigate him either. he chatted her up and they swapped numbers and he didnt hassle her. then on the 1st date he didnt mind gilly and beth coming along also and then walked her to drive and buy shift but didnt even try anything on. he showed in there 2 dalliances; 1 meeting and chatting up, 1 date that he could be a decent guy. the spoilers in a few weeks suggest shes still dating him and theyre hanging out with justin and katy. therefore hes clearly treating her right, and we cant assume otherwise until we see him try something on or not. to brand him a slimeball is a bit premature.

Well in fairness, if someone told me they'd been in hospital, I'd probably think they'd had an operation or something. Hannah will need to tell him sooner or later and it's best he hears it from her.
